Ben and Grace met at Redeemer University in March 2022. Their dorms were always hanging out, and so they were in the same circle a lot during the last two months of that school year.

In August 2022, a group from those two dorms went camping, and Ben and Grace were able to spend some more time hanging out in a group setting. By this point, they both had developed secret crushes on each other.

During September and October of 2022, Ben and Grace began getting to know each other one-on-one. They went on a lot of walks together where they had some pretty awesome, deep conversations. On November 1st, Ben finally told Grace that he liked her, which was quickly reciprocated ;) They continued having their meaningful conversations and walks, while also taking the time to become a lot more comfortable with each other.

On Valentine's Day 2023, Ben asked Grace if she'd go out on a date with him, which happened on February 23, 2023 (during Reading Week so that they could use a car;)). Ben took Grace to East Side Mario's before they went to Grace's house to watch a great movie, Madagascar 2. At the end of the night, they made things official when Ben asked Grace if she'd be his girlfriend.

Ben and Grace have grown so close over their 2+ years of dating. They've had lots of adventures, played lots of sports, eaten lots of great food, and had lots of fun and special moments.

Fast forward to March 30, 2025. Ben told Grace they were going for a walk on a new trail that he found. He took her to a forest on the side of a road that she loves because of its beautiful scenery. At this point, she started to suspect the proposal might be happening (Ben was pretty sneaky, but Grace was starting to pick up on some clues). They walked through the forest, admiring the cool, low fog that had settled throughout. After getting to a jut-out from the main trail, Ben created a very special moment which resulted in him getting down on one knee! Everything about the evening was absolutely perfect, and the two could not be more happy with the next adventure that they've begun. They are so excited that they get to celebrate with their closest friends and families on September 13th!
