After graduating from Oklahoma State, Grace spent the semester before dental school working at Cornerstone Dental. One random Monday afternoon, she was assisting in the back when Chase came in to have a crown seated. Lucky for Grace (and maybe fate), the crown didn’t fit quite right—meaning Chase would have to come back two weeks later.
In the meantime, Grace checked to see how old Chase was and make sure he was not married with kids.
Two weeks later, Chase returned, excited to see Grace again and hear her call his name in the waiting room. Even though he thought she was cute, he told himself he’d never make a move—he couldn’t risk being “that guy” who hit on the staff at his own dentist’s office, where his aunt also happened to work.
As the appointment wrapped up, Grace walked him up to the front and told him it was nice to see him again. After he left, Kristi at the front desk asked if they already knew each other. She pointed out how cute Chase was and casually suggested that Grace should go out with him. Grace laughed it off—but on the drive home, she couldn’t stop thinking about it... and regretted not asking Kristi to play matchmaker.
After a few days of thinking about him non-stop, Grace finally worked up the nerve to follow Chase on Instagram. The next day, he liked an old photo on her feed (yes, total high school move—we love it). That was the sign Grace needed. She sent him a DM and dropped her number (okay, full honesty—it was her friend Madi Scribner who hit send).
By that night, they were texting, flirting, and planning a date. One week after their first date, Chase asked Grace to be his girlfriend. He thought it was an appropriate time since he swore they had been going out for two weeks. One of the first of many times Grace proved him wrong.
Just under two months later, Grace moved to Dallas to start dental school. Chase spent countless hours on the road visiting her, and even more hours on the couch while she studied. In between study marathons, they shared their love of great food, coffee walks with their Cavapoo Frankie, and lots of quality time that made the long drives worth it.
