Zach and I had known of each other before we officially met. He has been my brother's friend for a few years and we worked at the same place for a short amount of time. On October 19, 2019 we officially met! We started talking that night and started hanging out the first week of November. The week of Thanksgiving Zach went to Red River to go skiing with my family. The night we got back on December 1st, Zach asked me to be his girlfriend. He says he chose that day so it would be easy to remember! Valentine's day in 2021 he told me he loved me. Yes, it did take him 14 months!

Fast forward to July 2023 we were on a family vacation when he proposed. Zach wanted to propose on the beach in Half Moon Cay Bahamas, but it was impossible to get my entire family down on the beach and to get away from the crowd. We got back on the cruise ship and got ready for dinner. I had planned to take family pictures after dinner so I made sure everyone dressed nice. We went up to deck 11 after dinner and started taking pictures. Emma was taking mine and Zach's picture, my brother was recording, and my mom was facetiming my sister. Zach got down on one knee quickly because I started walking away and asked me to marry him. I was so excited and in shock I'm not sure I even gave him an answer! The proposal did not go as Zach had planned, but I'm just glad he finally popped the question.
