We are so excited to host you all in Charleston! We realize this may be some guest's first-time in The Holy City, so we put together a list of some of our favorite, can't-miss spots to see, eat & drink. Please note, this is high season, so there will be lots of other fellow visitors - make your plans and reservations in advance or accordingly! We hope you enjoy your time in this beautiful and historic city!

Attractions:

*Rainbow Row - A famous stretch of 13 colorful Georgian row houses on East Bay Street. One of the most iconic spots in Charleston, it's great for stroll in the historic South-of-Broad neighborhood and some photo opportunities.

Pineapple Fountain - Located in Waterfront Park, this iconic fountain is a symbol of Southern hospitality. It’s a great place to enjoy the view of Charleston harbor.

*The Battery & White Point Garden - A historic park located at the southern tip of the Charleston peninsula. It offers stunning views of the harbor, historical monuments, and beautiful pre-Civil War homes.

*Shem Creek - One of our favorite places to hang out for sunset, right across the river from downtown Charleston! A lively waterfront area known for sunset views, seafood restaurants, and kayaking. (Tavern & Table for a more high-end dining experience, Saltwater Cowboys or Red's Ice House for just drinks and people-watching!)

Charleston City Market - A downtown market where you can browse local crafts, and unique handmade items from local artists. It’s a great place to experience the local culture and pick up some souvenirs.

Fort Sumter National Monument - The site where the first shots of the Civil War were fired. A visit to this historic fort (accessible by boat) is a must for history enthusiasts and those interested in Charleston's history during the Civil War Era.

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens - One of the oldest, best-preserved plantations in the South, known for its beautiful gardens, rich history, and wildlife. It's a wonderful spot to explore and learn about Charleston’s past and Gullah Geechee culture.

Dining:

*Leon's Oyster Shop - A must-try! Known for its oysters, fried chicken, and casual, laid-back vibe. *Gracie's recommendation: the fried chicken sandwich*

Husk - A critically acclaimed restaurant that focuses on Southern, Lowcountry cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. *Drew's recommendation: the Husk Cheeseburger*

*Millers All Day - A spot on King Street known for all-day breakfast, brunch, and lunch. With a focus on classic Southern comfort food like biscuits, grits, and fried chicken, they also serve house-made pastries and excellent coffee.

Poogan's Porch - Located in a Victorian house, Poogan's Porch is a beloved Charleston institution known for Southern comfort food. Don’t miss their famous biscuits and fried chicken.

*Fleet Landing - Situated on the Charleston Harbor, Fleet Landing offers stunning waterfront views and a menu focused on fresh seafood. Great spot for a seafood meal like crab cakes and shrimp & grits with a view!

Rodney Scott's BBQ - A must-visit for barbecue lovers, Rodney Scott's BBQ is famous for its whole-hog, slow-smoked barbecue and sides. It's an essential stop for an authentic taste of Charleston's barbecue scene.

Bars:

*The Rooftop at The Vendue - A popular rooftop bar in The Vendue Hotel with fantastic views of Charleston’s historic district and the harbor. Great spot for a sunset drink, but be aware that it can get crowded.

The Gin Joint - A cozy, speakeasy-style bar known for creative, craft cocktails. Fun tip: ask the bartenders to make you a unique drink based on your preferences!

*Edmund's Oast - (Morrison Drive location) A favorite brewery & gastropub of ours in Charleston, which also features great food and an outdoor/porched bar.

*The Blind Tiger - One of the oldest spots in Charleston known for its lively, dive-bar atmosphere and outdoor brick courtyard. The bar has a great selection of craft cocktails & local beers, and often hosts live music.

Vintage Lounge - Stylish wine bar with a marble bar on Upper King Street with an extensive selection of wine and great small plates/charcuterie.

*Island Cabana Bar & Ship Store - Hidden gem, self-serve bar located in the Marina. Great atmosphere right on the Harbor with unbeatable views of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge and bay. Tip: parking inside the Marina is strictly enforced, so please park on the street (or just walk!)
