Our Story

Gracie's Story

Dakota slid into my DM’s and then on our first date he slid into my heart. Since we were both Arkansas born and raised, it was only natural for our first date to be an Arkansas Travelers Baseball game. After the game, we started talking in the parking lot and didn’t leave until they turned the lights out on us. After a few months in, I knew he was my person.
Our engagement was simply a dream. We were supposed to be attending a wedding in Bauxite, but when Dakota took the Broadway exit, I knew something was up. He proposed at one of our favorite places, The Capitol Hotel. Next, we were whisked away in a 1939 Cadillac- LaSalle. But when “Sally” drove us up to the front doors of the Arkansas Governor’s Manson, I literally thought I was going to faint. Our closest family and friends were waiting to celebrate in the Grand Hall with a seated dinner, dessert parade, and the sweetest toast from my dad. It was a dream- a dream come true!

Dakota's Story

Gracie is the person I spent my whole life looking and praying for - little did I know the discovery page on Instagram and her mom would help us connect. On July 10, 2019 we went on our first date and I was so inthralled that I couldn’t even wait a month before asking her to be my girlfriend. As far as I was concerned, she already was. Staying consistent with falling fast, I knew quickly that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I’ve never felt more calm, certain, and confident in my life as I was getting down on one knee to propose. I told Gracie, The only thing I want to change about you is your last name. The rest of the day was an absolute blur of celebrating big with over 150 friends and family at the Governor’s Mansion. Against all odds, we successfully kept the biggest secret from the one person you can’t keep a secret from. Our engagement was truly the best day of my life. Now we are counting down the days to the next best day of our lives, 7/22/2023.
