You can rent cars from Palermo Airport. Please note that on booking some car rental companies require you to ring them when you land to send a shuttle bus, as some of the car rental sights are located 3-4 km away from the airport.

Please also note driving in Sicily is like Mario Kart so it is advisable to take out full insurance on your rental, as indicators are optional for use on the road.

A car journey approximately takes 1 hour and 15 mins. There is a toll on the road that you take your ticket out of first and re-insert at the next toll for payment. it is approximately 90 cents so have your coins ready.

You catch the train from the Airport (Punta Raisi) to Palermo Centrale and from there take a connecting train to the heart of Cefalu.

A Driver / Taxi can be pre booked and arranged and range from €125-€170 one way but can work out a lot cheaper when split between multiple guests.
