Not that long ago, in a land not that far away... Rachel and Grant both went to the same hangout with some mutual friends from their church. She was the beauty on the worship team with the voice of a thousand angels. He was the homeless looking guy in the back, leading the security team, both seeking community and new friendships. This was not our Romeo and Juliet's first crossing of paths, but this was the one that mattered. Throughout the years, life brought them to the same place at the same time without meeting. To say God works in mysterious ways is corny, but truer evermore. That night of community and board games wasn't without its adventures, but it was certainly the keystone for this love story. A few weeks later, the church launched their small groups and Rachel hosted a "games and hangs" group at her apartment, This was up Grant's alley. He decided to give it a try and got Rachel's number in the process. That evening, they had the opportunity to get to know each other in a smaller setting. The next day, Mitch (Grant's friend) offered Grant two concert tickets while he was at church on Saturday night. Seeing his golden opportunity, he texted Rachel, who was helping with kids upstairs, and asked her on a date. Rachel, not having any idea what concert it was, but interested in getting to know Grant better, said yes. They drove together up to Seattle together and had a great time at the concert. Post-concert, both were starved and not ready to end the evening yet. They found a mutual interest in breakfast foods and went to Beth's Cafe for a midnight omelette. The two spent a long night talking and got back early the next morning. Both left feeling hopeful and excited about the potential relationship. Two days later, Grant asked Rachel on another date, and from there it became a very frequent trend. Soon, they were almost inseparable. About a year later, on an expedition to find a Christmas tree, Grant got down on one knee. They are so excited to start their lives together and look forward to many happy years.
