The love that Janelle and I share is something special and it all began as two strangers who grew up a couple miles from each other and shared mutual friends but never really connected beyond a casual hello (and a peace sign from afar in Cancun during spring break our senior year). Our story took an exciting turn when we went on our first date to Dairy Queen in August 2017. It was a simple yet memorable night that marked the beginning of an incredible journey.

Over the past five years, our lives have been filled with significant milestones. One of us left the country for 3 months shortly after we started dating. We both started our careers - I became a nurse right when Covid hit. We navigated the unknown with distanced walks around the neighborhood for awhile... In the spring of 2021, we moved in together and about a year later, we decided to make a big move to Los Angeles. After some tearful goodbyes with family and friends, we packed up a U-Haul and headed West, excited for what was to come.

Backing up a bit, in the beginning stages of us contemplating the cross-country move, I was also planning a surprise proposal in Mexico for Janelle that turned out to be quite a challenge. While we were there, I pretended to go to the gym every morning, but little did she know that I was secretly making preparations for the big moment. It was a beautiful and heartfelt proposal and I could not have been happier when she said yes (And she could not have been happier when we got hibachi after… kidding… kinda). I then had to confess that I didn’t even know where the gym was at the resort.

Our journey together has been filled with love, laughter, and endless support. We have grown individually and as a couple, always pushing each other to try new things and grow. The bond we share is built on trust, understanding, and an unwavering commitment to each other's happiness.

As we look ahead to the future, we know that our love will continue to flourish. We are excited for the adventures that await us and the beautiful life we will continue to create together. Our story started with two strangers whose paths crossed, but it has blossomed into a lasting connection that we are grateful for every day. We are so excited to share this next milestone of marriage, come September, with all of you by our side.
