When we sat down to write our story, one word kept coming up over and over again...journey. Because for us, this has never been about a picture-perfect "boy meets girl" tale. We didn’t grow up together. We weren’t high school sweethearts or prom King and Queen. Our paths didn’t cross in college or through mutual friends. Instead, our story is one of detours, growth, and perfect timing.

For myself (Greg), life was a winding road… filled with highs, lows, and everything in between. My journey took me all over the country, meeting incredible people and learning hard but valuable lessons along the way. No matter where I traveled, though, my heart found its way back to Tennessee.

For Brittany, life had its own set of challenges. After experiencing deep personal loss with her father and wondering when love would finally find her, she chose to turn inward. She took time to rediscover who she was, what she stood for, and what she truly wanted in a partner, someone kind, genuine, and full of heart.

Fast forward to August 2023. Both of us had reached a point where hope and curiosity gently nudged us toward something new. In the spirit of modern romance, we each downloaded a dating app …yes, that kind of story…just to “see what might happen.” I swiped first. A few days later, Brittany did too. I messaged her, and (after a little delay) she wrote back.

From our very first dinner date, something felt different. We spoke for hours… four to be exact and we spoke about everything from our goals to our heartbreaks, from our dreams to the kind of love we both hoped to find. There were butterflies, sure, but more than that, there was a calm, unshakable sense of peace. A sense that maybe...this was something real.

And it was.

Me being myself (the overthinker), I tried to hit the brakes for a bit, wondering how something so good could be so easy, but our hearts had already decided. Love had found us, and we weren’t going to let it slip away. We dated, moved in together, and began building a life rooted in honesty, laughter, communication, and partnership.

Eventually, I knew what God was calling me to do. I asked Brittany’s mom and sister for their blessing and planned a proposal in one of my favorite places...Asheville, NC. And with a little help from a close friend, the surprise was set. And the answer? Well, here we are.

As we now prepare to say, “I do,” we look back on every twist and turn of our individual journeys with gratitude. We see how every challenge, every delay, and every prayer led us right here to each other. God had a plan all along, and it’s more beautiful than we ever imagined.

We’re so excited to start this next chapter together, and we’re even more excited to celebrate it with all of you — the people who mean the most to us. This journey has only just begun, and we’ll never take a single moment of it for granted.
