Our Wedding

Our story began in the summer of 2018 in Lake George, New York. Gretchen was out with her friends when Nate walked into the same bar. Fortunately for Gretchen, her best friend Casey had the urge to go approach Nate on her behalf. Moments later, Nate was at the bar grabbing two Coronas — the perfect summer night drink — and struck up a conversation.It didn’t take long for Gretchen and Nate to discover their shared love for the Adirondacks and the outdoors. They were also surprised to learn they had grown up just 20 minutes apart — Nate from Hudson, New York, and Gretchen from Valatie, New York. Numbers were exchanged, and later that night, Nate texted Gretchen. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and the connection was instant.Shortly after meeting, we had our first date and quickly hit it off. We spent that summer inseparable, spending every bit of free time together. On August 11th, 2018, we floated down the northern Hudson River with our friends Mike and Q. During the trip, Q asked Nate if he had finally asked Gretchen to be his girlfriend. Nate had planned to wait until an upcoming concert, but decided not to wait any longer — and asked her right then and there.Since that day, we’ve been together for over seven years, continuing to share life’s adventures side by side. We love weekend getaways, boating and “river rat” days, camping, cheering on the New York Rangers in the city (always followed by a stop at an Irish pub), and exploring new places together. Whatever we’re doing, we’re laughing, having fun, and creating unforgettable memories.In the spring of 2025, we took our first big vacation together — a Texas tour, starting in Austin and ending in Houston. One of the final stops was Corpus Christi, where Nate proposed on the beach at sunrise. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable trip.Now, we’re so excited to begin our next chapter — getting married in Lake Placid, one of our favorite places and a destination that holds a special place in our hearts.
