We first met in Ms. Royse's English class during our junior year of high school, but our friendship really took off after a Rock Band competition where we played together in a band called "Kissyboots." Katie later said of that night, "I watched him get 100% on Rock Band, and it was kind of cool but also kind of embarrassing." The rest, as they say, is history.

A few months later, we were dating. A few more months later, we were attending Azusa Pacific University together in Southern California.

Since graduating, we have moved to the Pico Union area of Los Angeles to live with wedding party members Jordan and Sam. Katie has been serving as a teacher's assistant in Americorps' City Year program at a nearby high school. Griffin is a Behavior Instructor at California Psychcare, where he works with children with developmental disabilities.

On one February afternoon, we went to have a picnic at Vista Hermosa Park and, while sitting on a bench overlooking downtown Los Angeles, Griffin proposed. Since then, we have been looking forward to our wedding day with you, our guests!
