Our story starts at California Polytechnic State University, where we met through mutual friends. Griffin had to work pretty hard to get Ashley’s attention (some say it was persistence, others might call it charm). Eventually, he scored a win—with a post-soccer game hot chocolate hangout at Ashley’s apartment that turned out to be the beginning of something special.

Throughout college, we grew closer and built a strong foundation. Life took us on a few different paths—Ashley headed to the University of Oregon for her Master’s, while Griffin wrapped up school and began working in Santa Barbara. Despite the distance, we remained committed, and eventually reunited in Santa Barbara before making our way back to the Bay Area together for work.

Santa Barbara holds a special place in our hearts, which is why Griffin chose it as the perfect spot to propose. It was a beautiful full-circle moment in one of our favorite places.

We click because we’ve always been each other’s biggest cheerleaders—and we never take life too seriously. Whether we’re tracking down the best food and drinks in town, watching sports, running errands, or just hanging out at home, we make sure to have fun doing it together.
