Taylor and Gwen met in 2020 during the inaugural Athletes Unlimited season. The first interaction between us was during a scrimmage game. Gwen was hitting and Taylor was catching. When Gwen decided to get mouthy with an umpire during the at bat (shocking, I know), Taylor had the umpire's back, and their chemistry began. There were several serendipitous moments during that season that eventually led to the blossoming of a wonderful relationship. When we realized that we were actually totally in love and going to make an effort to build a relationship outside of our temporary bubble, Gwen decided it was time to finally come out to her parents and close friends. It was the scariest and most rewarding thing she ever did. She loved Taylor so fiercely that she didn't want to hide their love. Since that day, our relationship has continued to grow, learn, blossom, and thrive. We can easily say that we loved each other then, but now? It's as if two halves of the same whole were split and have finally found their way home to each other.

In 2021, after about a year of dating while Gwen lived in Colorado and Taylor in Nebraska, we decided that if we were serious about building our relationship into the life we pictured, that it was time to move in together. So in the fall of 2021, we were finally done saying "see you later" and decided to move in together in Omaha, Nebraska. Our first home together was such a special place for us. Apartment 312 was the first place that our 4 kitties became best friends. It was where Taylor got the coolest job in the world, tending to giraffes and rhinos (along other hoofed homies) at the Omaha Zoo. It was where Tuesdays became a weekly date at our favorite Detroit Pizza bar meets movie theatre. It's where we spent many sunny days on brewery patios, laughing and falling more in love. It was cold, flat, and windy, but it was the perfect place to start our life together. When we left our little apartment, we cried together, chasing the next stage of life in Columbus, OH.

In 2022, we made the decision to move to Columbus, OH to be closer to Jackie once the Edwards fam moved out of Nebraska, officially. Shortly after we moved, Gwen got an offer to play in Japan and couldn't say no. While it was so hard being apart from each other, we knew it was just a blip on the radar for our love story. Gwen returned from Japan and went straight to Chicago to watch Taylor play. 5 days later on July 1, 2023, Taylor got down on one knee and asked Gwen to marry her. (Actually, she said "Wanna do this thing forever" LOL).

A year into our engagement, we decided we wanted to finally become homeowners! The homebuying journey opened up an even deeper level of communication and cooperation than we could have imagined. We now live in an amazing town home that is 30 min from Tyler, 15 mins from Jackie, and 36 seconds from Tatum (and down the hall from Tristen ;) ). We look forward to the life that we will build in this house: the one where we hope to eventually start our own family together.
