Michaela and I's love story is not your typical love story. In fact, we had met and talked to each other before we even thought we did. It was at a football party, and my buddy Nick talked about us meeting there for the first time, and we didn’t even remember it…. So much for making a good impression haha. Prior to Nick telling us that, we thought we met each other for the first time the day after Valentine’s Day. We had messaged each other back and forth on social media in the past, and she had posted a rather interesting piece of artwork, which I decided to comment on. One thing led to another and the next thing I know we were making plans to go hiking the next day. When I first met her and her cute but crackhead dog there was a lot going on and I was kind of overwhelmed. She said that we would be going on a hike and that there wouldn’t be very good reception out there, so I made sure to let people know my location… Just in case haha. When we got to where we were hiking, I made a comment that the place we pulled into reminded me of where I used to go hunting in Michigan as a kid. She proceeded to tell me that her family had some land and that I should take her hunting sometime. At that moment, having met her for an hour and a half and it being eight months from hunting season, I thought there wasn’t a chance that was going to happen. We proceeded to have a nice hike with good conversation and made it back to the vehicle, and I thought we were going to be headed home. Well, that’s not what she had in mind. Apparently, we were going to be hiking the whole day… not just one trail. I’m glad we did though because it really gave me a lot of time to spend with her and see her personality. I really got to see her for who she was, a kind, thoughtful, and loving person. The more I hung out with her, the more I started to fall in love with her. She was this vibrant, beautiful, and outgoing person… and I always just wanted to spend more and more time with her. Which then lead into a beautiful relationship, moving in together, getting a house together, getting engaged, and now getting married. Sure, we have had a lot of ups and downs, but we have always done it together, and now we will forever.

P.s. I did take her hunting that next season and she killed her first her deer.

Me and Haidar met in college and our relationship blossomed during covid.


Haidar and I commented on each other Snapchat stories a couple times. On Valentines Day in 2020, he commented on something I posted, and I asked him if he wanted to go hiking with me and Sky Baby the next day. He said yes! He came over my the next morning, where we thought we were meeting in person for the first time, and he was not too thrilled to be spending the day with me. We drove an hour away to go hike at Rock Island SP and ended up spending the entire day there. I remember thinking he was SOOO HOOOOT and that I was just vibing so well with him. By the time we finally got back to Cookeville we were starving and Haidar took me to El Tapitio (S/O cookevegas) for dinner then went home.


After that, we spent so many days together. Hed come over and watch tv with me for hours and wed just talk. This fool would cuddle sky baby allllll night long in my bed and never even kissed me! I just knew I was going to have to kiss him first, but after 2 weeks he FINALLY kissed me and the rest is history..... kinda. Haidar still didnt really like me like that haha. He grew into liking me over a very long period of time, and now he loves me more than anyone else could, ever. Hes my best friend and I absolutely adore him.


Flash forward to a year into our relationship when I finally met his friend, Nick. I introduced myself and Nick said wed met before and me and haidar were confused but we just brushed it off. We hung out for a few hours then eventually went back to my moms house where I was living after graduation. Haidar SHOOTS out of bed and says I remember!!! 😂 Me and Haidar had actually met the year before we went hiking at the only football party I ever went to, AND I was only there for 15 minutes max before I left. The friend I went with at the time knew his friend Nick, so they started talking and me and Haidar introduced ourselves to each other and were chatting. Haidar told me he was a cellular molecular biology major and I told him I was a wildlife and fisheries major. I remember him reacting in a way that just told me he was not impressed by my major and the conversation ended. Its so funny that 1)we werent impressionable enough to each other to even remember meeting and 2)hes so proud of me and my major/career now. He loves that Im a wildlife biologist and that so much of my job is what people do for hobbies. He loves showing me off and bragging about me.


So, while it wasnt love at first sight, our love definitely proves that if you let something that annoys you stay around long enough, eventually youll fall head over heels and want to get married!
