Noah and I met when he moved back to our small town. He and I share a common “aha” moment for our first day of school. He swears that the second he saw me he thought ‘there’s something about her’ which I found insane because I have to admit that he caught my eye. I knew he’d be important to me in some way as we grew up. We quickly became friends and loved to hang out. By the end of the year, Noah and I made a pact that if we weren’t married by the time we were 27, that we’d just marry each other!! How ironic!
Throughout high school, Noah and I became the very best of friends. We sat together in every class, attended youth group together, ate together, we were inseparable! Noah’s dad was our Spanish teacher and he says that when he saw us together on the first day of 10th grade that he knew I’d be Noah’s wife. He even went home and told Noah’s mom “I have met Noah’s wife”. We of course didn’t know it at the time. Even with several people pointing it out!
We ended our senior year attached at the hip. We went to prom together, graduated together, and got our summer job together. At our summer camp I must admit I fell for Noah almost instantly. Those friend feelings didn’t last very long. On the 4th of July Noah FINALLY asked me to be his girlfriend in the middle of the biggest firework show I had ever seen! We never stopped being best friends.
Although we didn’t date in high school, Noah would always be my childhood sweetheart. But college, those were OUR years. Long distance tested our love between Clemson and The Citadel, but we truly had the most fun during Freshman year. We wrote letters, made long drives, sacrificed weekends, and got to experience each other’s new worlds. We wouldnt trade these years for the world!
Football games, formals, military balls, trips, and summers together were what our worlds consisted of during these years. And we loved every minute of it!
Noah left for Officer Candidate School this summer and completely changed our lives. It was our longest time apart in almost a decade! After about 100 letters, several trips to VA, and precious phone calls we finished the summer closer than ever before. God used this summer to prepare us for our future and show Noah and I that He was ready to move tremendously in our lives. We made our plan to be married in the Summer 2025!
Noah planned the most incredible proposal in the marsh on Daniel Island in August! He took me on the Notebook boat ride and on a plane ride back home to have dinner with my parents. He checked every box. It took me days for it to sink in that I would soon be Noah Williams’ wife!! We could not be more excited to spend our forever together!
