How We Met: We met in 2017 through mutual friends at Jellystone Campground in Robert, LA. We know, so romantic. Chip had an “interest” in Hailey for years but apparently she never gave him the time of day (or so he says). It wasn’t until summer of 2020 when they had both ended previous relationships and started becoming close friends. Eventually, on September 18th, Chip had the courage to (formally) ask Hailey to be his girlfriend. Hailey of course, slapped him and replied with a loving “i’m not talking to you idiot” which meant 100% yes. Little did we know that we had found our soulmates and our stupid crazy lives together were just beginning. 




The Proposal: Shortly after we started dating, one morning at the campground (go figure) Chip decided to wake up early and take a ride over to Hailey’s parents’ camper, leaving Hailey alone (rude, right?). Hailey didn’t think much of it and just took that time to study some Physiology for an upcoming exam. Chip was gone for a good while but Hailey just kept studying and assumed everything was normal. All of a sudden, Chip and Hailey’s parents began talking a lot about taking some “family pictures”. Hailey, oblivious as always, never thought anything of it and just blew it off saying “Yeah sure, when do I need to be there and what do I need to wear?”. As the weeks drew closer, Hailey noticed that Chip and her parents had their own separate group chat, and would text all the time about random stuff (or so she thought). So naturally, Hailey accused them of being in cahoots and they would just say “about what?” or “what the hell are you talking about?”. Hailey started to get suspicious, but just let it go because nursing finals were coming up and she really didn’t have time to focus on anything else. Hailey thought maybe they were throwing her a surprise birthday party but that would be stupid because she HATES surprises and attention, so again she just let it go. As it got closer to Hailey’s birthday, Chip began apologizing because he said that her present wouldn’t be in yet, and the delivery was slow. Hailey didn’t care and just told him it was fine. December 5, 2020 we went to take these “family pictures”. They started out normal but eventually Hailey and Chip started taking pictures alone. All of a sudden, Hailey turned around and there was a huge sign that said “Hailey, will you marry me?” and Chip was down on one knee. Hailey slapped him (again), and of course said yes. We couldn’t be happier together and we can’t wait to spend our special day with you!
