Dear Family and Friends,We wanted to share an update regarding our wedding plans. The grooms deployment has been extended through November, and because of this, we will be postponing our celebration. While we don't yet have a new date, we are hopeful that we will have more information in December. We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and deeply appreciate your patience, love, and support during this time. Your kindness and understanding mean so much to us. We’ve known each other for as long as we can remember. We grew up in the same town, went to the same church, and eventually ended up at the same high school. In 2020, Simon was a junior and I was a sophomore. We worked together in a small group for a finance class, which is when we started getting to know each other better. Back in high school, Simon really liked me, but the feelings weren’t mutual at the time. He tried hard to get my attention — we went on a few dates, and he even asked me to prom my sophomore year. After that school year, I transferred to a different school, and we drifted apart. Simon graduated and joined the Navy, leaving for boot camp that summer. A little while later, a letter showed up from him addressed to my brother. I decided to write back, and we exchanged a few letters while he was away. After boot camp and his first deployment, Simon was stationed in Bremerton, Washington. The summer after I graduated in 2023, he came home, and we reconnected at a party. He asked me out again — and this time, I said yes. From then on, Simon drove down to Oregon almost every weekend to take me on dates. Just under a year later, in August 2024, he proposed.
