Thanks to alphabetical assigned seating in history class sophomore year Hailey and Ethan were seated next to each other. After a few months of talking they officially started dating in January of 2016. Throughout high school they attended multiple school dances together and supported each other at their sporting events. They graduated in 2018 and both headed off to MSU.

Ethan and Hailey both attended Michigan State University. Ethan studied nursing and Hailey studied dietetics. It was during college that they found their love for hiking in the mountains. They also adopted two kittens right before graduating in the Spring of 2022.

Ethan is working as a registered nurse and Hailey is working as a registered dietitian. In May 2024 they took a trip to Colorado to go hiking as a break from work. When they were in Rocky Mountain National Park Ethan got down on one knee and proposed!
