Steven and Hailey both grew up showing goats in 4H; Hailey showing dairy and Steven showing Boer. They were in the same 4H club since they were 10 and 11 years old, but never interacted much other than their monthly meetings and fair.

Eventually, in 2020, they connected over Instagram and started talking. With the county fair being canceled that year due to the pandemic, they both connected through talk of past fairs and childhood nostalgia.

After a few months of talking and getting to know each other, Steven mustered up enough courage to ask Hailey to coffee. Hailey refused to open the text because she could tell where it was going just by a few words on the notification banner, so she left Steven hanging for 11 hours… all jokes aside, Hailey was just as excited as Steven about a coffee date.

Coffee dates led to hiking dates, which eventually led to a star gazing date at Hailey’s house where Steven asked Hailey if he could start calling her his girlfriend.

Fast forward to 2023, Steven proposed in Hailey’s barn after they delivered the last goat kid of the year, Smokey.

In the same pasture Steven asked Hailey to be his girlfriend, they will say their “I do’s”, and they can’t wait to celebrate with you.
