Hailey and Austin met in 2019 at Kansas Wesleyan University. They were both competing in the same DECA events, a business club on campus, and quickly bonded over some friendly competition (Hailey beat Austin and will never let him forget it!). After their magical trip to Disney World for DECA Nationals, they started dating when they returned back to campus for the Fall semester.

In Spring 2020, they went to visit Hailey's family in Kentucky when the world suddenly shut down. That's right, Austin survived COVID in the Vandevanter house after six months of dating. It's safe to say Hailey knew he was a keeper after those three months of isolation in the loud Vandevanter house!

Hailey and Austin spent the next two years in Salina, Kansas while they both completed their MBA and worked full-time on campus. After graduating in 2022, Hailey and Austin moved to Austin, TX to start their next adventure together.

Since living in Texas, Hailey and Austin have enjoyed exploring their new city, advancing in their careers, and enjoying this new chapter of adulting.

On August 25, 2023 Austin pulled off the surprise of the year with the sweetest engagement weekend a girl could ask for! They are thrilled to be sharing this special milestone with their friends and family in the city they have grown to love so much.
