Caden and Haily’s journey began at the University of New Haven in the vibrant Spring of 2022, where they were brought together by mutual friends. As the semester unfolded, they found joy in each other’s company, whether doing homework, playing games, or simply relaxing together. Their connection deepened over the summer as they navigated the distance, keeping the spark alive through daily texts and FaceTime calls while separated by miles.Once back on campus, Caden took a leap of faith and asked Haily to officially be his girlfriend on August 27, 2022. From that moment on, they embarked on countless adventures, creating memories that included cozy nights at the drive-in movie theater, competitive outings at Dave and Busters, and festive afternoons decorating Christmas cookies.In the spring, Caden received an exciting opportunity to intern with the Secret Service in Washington, D.C., prompting a significant transition for both of them. Haily was also starting her own new chapter, as she graduated and began her job search, ultimately securing a position in the D.C. area as well. After the semester, Caden moved into their new apartment in D.C. to commence his internship, and just a few months later, Haily joined him to start her new career at Morgan and Morgan.Their love flourished as they settled into life together in the heart of the capital. The following December, they ventured to Minnesota to celebrate Christmas, an enchanting occasion that culminated with a surprise proposal. On December 23, 2023, against the backdrop of a stunning Christmas lights display at the Arboretum, Caden asked Haily to spend forever with him.In the year and a half since, Caden and Haily have cherished their time living in D.C., embracing the joys of building a life together as partners and best friends. As they stand on the cusp of their next adventure—marriage—they are filled with excitement and gratitude for the journey that brought them here, eager to continue creating beautiful memories together in the years to come.
