Believe it or not, Walker and I first met when we were both 17! We are both from Kansas City but went to neighboring high schools. The high schools had a networking thing called JA (junior assembly). Basically they paired you with a guy/girl from the opposite school and you had dinner and a dance as a way to meet new people and learn dinner etiquette. After that night, every time we crossed paths we both said hi to each other. (walker likes to point out that he also told me happy birthday every year on facebook after we met) We both went to college at Mizzou and continued to cross paths. After college I made my way back to Kansas City and got a job at KU hospital, Walker got a job for CCC and started working on a 2 year project in Buffalo, NY. Luckily he was able to travel back to KC every other weekend. So Labor Day weekend of 2012 my friend Lauren texted me and said her friend Clint invited her over to Walker's parents house to watch the Mizzou football game in the shed. I said sure why not! After a Mizzou victory the guys decided to take the celebration to Neon Wild in North Kansas City. Let's just say Walker got my number again and we continued to text/talk while he was out of town. Our first official date was the weekend of our birthdays. I say ours because his birthday is the day before mine! He came in town for the weekend and asked if I wanted to meet up with a bunch of people for a few drinks. I said yes, and then he asked if I could pick him up since he didn't have a car. When I went to pick him up I asked where everyone else was. He said they couldn't come. Later I found out that he never invited anyone, he just wanted it to be the two of us! We continued to see each other every time he was in town or I made several trips to see him, until he finally moved back to KC in July of 2015! Over the last 4+ years we have been to so many weddings together and now it's our turn! We can't wait to start this next chapter of our lives together!
