It all began by clicking that like button on a dating website. For those who know, online dating can be exhausting and a daunting experience. Both of us being slightly skeptical, but hopeless romantics, we found ourselves both on the same website, at the same time, swiping right on each others profile. After the generic dating website interview questions, we quickly started getting into all the real conversations. We spent the next few days talking all day and night before we went on our first date.


Although it was planned for the Tuesday after Labor Day, we couldnt wait and it got moved up a day or two earlier. I walked into The Oak bar in McMinnville to meet Matt who had one red rose sitting on the seat beside him. We started talking and almost missed our dinner reservation at La Rambla but luckily made it in time. When Matt ordered the cheesecake, I knew I had a keeper. We went on a date every night that week.


Only a couple weeks later on September 22nd, with a piece of Chocolate cake (Are you seeing a pattern of Matt bribing me with sweets?!) he asked me to go steady (his words, not mine) and I of course said yes!


Fast forward to February after dating only 5 months, we went on a trip to bend to celebrate Valentines Day and somehow ended up looking at engagement rings. (Maybe I planned it, maybe I didnt). The first ring I tried on was the one and we both knew it. Now I had to try and wait patiently (it was hard) for him to officially ask me, even though we had already reserved our beautiful venue. On June 6th we went to visit Matts old family ranch in Post, OR. Riding up to the top of the bluff overlooking the ranch, what I thought was just going to be a quick picture of us (photo credit to our tour guide Jimmy Clark) turned in to Matt down on one knee and me saying YES!!


Now we are here and preparing to start our lives together. We cant express how excited we are and how grateful we are to celebrate with you!
