Brandon and Haley met at Grand View University as they were both a part of the Track and Field team. They never really talked, but Haley knew about Brandon through her sister Allie who was also on the team. Allie had mentioned how after her cross country races, he would catch and/or help her as she went across the finish line.

The only words Haley and Brandon ever said to each other were "good luck" or "nice race". That was until Brandon worked up the courage to add Haley on snapchat at 1:00 AM over Spring break in March of 2019. Haley added him back right away, and she soon received a snapchat from Brandon shortly after. "I thought I was the only one who stayed up this late," was the snap that started it all. They continued to talk all night.

Haley and Brandon went on their first date at Cool Basil, where he made her try sushi for the first time. This was one of their many firsts together, and set the tone for trying new things together in the following years. They made it a goal to try a new restaurant every few weeks.

While Brandon was working and starting a life outside of college, Haley was just beginning her college journey. Through this, they would make time to see each other a few times a week, and spend weekends together. A few of the activities they enjoy doing most together are hiking, walking, biking, and doing any activity outdoors.

At the beginning of October, Brandon asked Haley if they could get some professional fall photos taken. He made Haley set everything up to make it less suspicious. On October 22nd, Haley and Brandon set off to Waterworks Park in Des Moines to meet their photographer. Brandon chose a spot that he thought was most special. After 30 minutes of pictures, Brandon got a phone call while they were changing into their next outfits, and went as far away from Haley as possible to whisper on the phone. Suspicious? Yes. After a few pictures in their new outfits, they heard rustling leaves behind them. Brandon bolted away. Seconds later, Haley sees her two sisters, and his sister and brother in law walking up with him. Brandon was holding a little box in his hand. They both can hardly remember what he said in the moment when he asked her to marry him because they practically blacked out with happiness. She said yes to the most amazing man!

Haley and Brandon currently live in an apartment in West Des Moines, where they moved on July 2nd, 2022. Some of the many things they enjoy doing together are decorating for holidays, hot tub sessions, working out, walks, and eating Thai Food. They love to travel and try new things!
