Jalen & Haley met in high school through a mutual friend Jasmine. Jalen asked for Jasmines assistance on asking for Haleys number but Haley denied and insisted he ask her himself. Jalen took MONTHS to do so because he was too nervous to approach Haley to ask. As time went on, Jalen would pass her in the halls with a nervous hello. Until a school dance was coming up, Jalen stopped Haley in the halls to ask....are you going to the turnabout in which Haley replied with yes and Jalen said cool & kept walking. UGH. Fast forward to the school dance...where Haley & Jalen danced together, talked, and laughed until the end of the dance where once again...Jalen did not ask for her number. It was later learned that Jalen was upset about not getting her number when he finally had a chance to. That he drove home with his friend Quelin listening to Marvins Room with McChickens in hand bummed out about missing his chance once again. Eventually, Jalen got up the courage to stop Haley in the halls to grab her number in which he walked away smiling ear to ear. After a couple of years of talking, Jalen graduated, went away to college, & they went their separate ways. But secretly always knew they loved each other.


Fast forward to 2020 months after Haley graduates...


Haley went away to college at BGSU and got settled in. Jalen eventually reached out to Haley to check-in. From there, they spoke everyday building the friendship back up. Until one day, Haley visited home & Jalen invited her over to meet his family on Sept. 1st, 2020. After his familys approval, Jalen and Haley continued to hang-out as friends where she would bring home Insomnia cookies on the weekends, go out to dinner together, go on adventures, spend time with his/her family, etc. Before they knew it they were falling in love & fast. Until a month or so later, Jalens mom approached them with the question of so are you dating or. In which Jalen quickly replied with, yes. To Haleys surprise since he never officially asked her out...but she didnt care so they decided to make their anniversary the first day they hung out..09.01.2020. Proving that love finds its way back around when the time is right.
