After a couple more phone and FaceTime dates, and with the weather getting better, they took a risk by getting together in-person. Their first in-person date was going for a walk around Haley’s neighborhood, and getting sandwiches at Fozzie’s. What struck Haley about Andrew when she met him for the first time was how large Andrew was. She knew he was 6’4” from his Hinge profile, but it was still surprising in person. What Andrew noticed first when meeting Haley was how blue her eyes were.

From here their relationship took off, and they decided to make things official on June 11th. About a month later things got serious when they both said “I love you.” Haley realized she loved Andrew while she was driving one day. It was the day Andrew first met Haley’s best friends, Tori and Hannah. They were driving on the highway when multiple cars suddenly stopped. All Haley could think about was how close she was to crashing a car full of people she loved. But then Andrew slowly rested his hand on her leg, and reaffirmed to her that everyone was alright. Which immediately comforted and calmed Haley down, a hard task if there ever was one. It was then Haley knew she was in love. Andrew wasn’t exactly sure when he fell in love, and he also wasn’t sure about how to say “I love you” once he realized it, so instead he asked Haley about how she knew she was in love with past boyfriends. After that weird conversation he admitted that he was in love with her.

For the next year their relationship continued to grow, and they both decided that they were ready for the next step. Shortly after, they found a house for rent in South City. It was an old little St. Louis house that had been recently renovated. So, they moved in together in April 2021. From there time only moved faster. They made a home together, traveled together, Andrew graduated from the police academy and became a cop with the city of Chesterfield, while Haley continued to work as a nurse and work towards completing her Doctorate. Before they knew it, they had spent two and a half years together.

Both Haley and Andrew knew they were happy together, and so things got even more serious when Andrew decided to purpose on November 8th, 2022. He told Haley she needed to look cute, because they were voting together for the first time and he wanted a photo to celebrate it. Haley told Andrew that she likes to vote in sweats, and she was immediately suspicious something else was going on. After voting, Andrew suggested they get lunch and take it to Forest Park to have a picnic. They then went to Fozzie’s to get lunch, making Haley even more suspicious, because this is where they had their first date. After eating in the park, they took a very short walk. Then at the bottom of Art Hill, Andrew got on one knee and asked Haley to marry him. Obviously, she said yes. Otherwise, why would you be reading this long-winded story on a wedding website.
