Haley and Tyson first knew of each other when Haley was a sophomore in high school and Tyson was a senior. Haley and Tyson were both in the same prom group. They pieced it all together once they started dating. Also, Tyson’s dad, Jason, had his own practice in Brookings, where many of Haley’s family members went and saw Dr. Jahn and knew of Tyson and their family. Crazy right?

In early 2021, Haley and Tyson matched on Tinder. This was when Haley was living in Sioux Falls for her sophomore year of college. Haley and Tyson then decided to hangout during Haley’s spring break. For our first date, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and painted canvases. After their first date, they began seeing each other almost every day. Not long after, on April 13th, Tyson asked Haley to be his girlfriend. Since then, they were inseparable.

Haley had to move back to Vermillion, SD for college to finish out her junior and senior year. Tyson and Haley both made the effort to stay together and drive back and forth to see each other when they could. In October of 2022, Haley and Tyson decided to get their first pet. They got a cat named Gibby. Gibby stayed with Haley in Vermillion and came with her on weekends to see Tyson. Haley then moved to Sioux Falls for her internship. Haley and Tyson were living together with a roommate. In November of 2023, Haley decided to adopt a puppy and surprise Tyson. They named her Lou. After having both a cat and an energetic puppy, they learned a lot of patience and grew within themselves.

On November 27th, 2024, Tyson took Haley out on a date night. Tyson told Haley that they were going to go to The Falls after dinner to look at the Christmas lights. Ever since Haley met Tyson, she always told Tyson she wanted to go to The Falls and see the lights. After a cold walk around The Falls, Tyson then proposed to Haley. Tyson and Haley are looking forward to officially beginning their life together.
