As many of you know, it all started with a simple swipe right...

Haley and Steven had their first date at the empty Limerick's pub during the 2017 Stanley Cup game (Haley's choice). Steven was there, pink v-neck and black hat, contributing to 90% of conversation and taking no time for small chat. After speaking about everything from their favourite colour to a higher being and what will solve world peace, both of them knew that this wasn't any regular tinder date. Steven sealed it with a kiss and Haley was so flustered she drove in the wrong direction for 10 minutes.

Neither of us can agree who popped the big "I love you" first, mainly because we both slipped it after a few too many beverages… We agreed that we would pretend it didn't happen yet, as we wanted it to be more special than a merlot breathed slur. Steven treated Haley to a surprise graduation trip to Emerald Lake Lodge where we both "officially" said our I Love You's.

A year after many fun dates and driving across Calgary to meet each other 5 days a week, Steven asked Haley to move in with him. Haley of course said yes, and they began their new chapter in Kensington together.

4 very short months after moving in together, Steven was offered a job opportunity in Scotland that he (literally) couldn't refuse. He pursued scotch and haggis while Haley pursued her new job as a nurse and a dog mom in Calgary.

Haley and Steven spent the next year rendezvousing around Europe experiencing new cultures, new food, new beer, and new challenges, but most importantly a new and stronger connection. They explored France, Belgium, Netherlands, England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, and Greece. Their biggest argument was about who's phone charger was who's.

A year later on the first day of winter, Steven was back home and set up a date night out on Stephen Ave. Haley had 1 eyelash on and a bra when Steven called her and asked her to "come up on the roof". It had sleeted the night before and was -20 outside. Haley said no initially, but when Steven insisted, she realized what might be happening. She stuck on her other eyelash pulled on a dress and tights, ripping the crotch in excitement. Unsurprisingly, Steven had gone the whole mile and set up a runway, candles, garland, music and a tripod.

As you all know, Steven and Haley moved to Houston TX right before the beginning of the pandemic. They spent a year and a half building a new life in a new city with the anticipation of their fall wedding. Unfortunately the wedding had to be postponed and changed to a different venue. Despite this, their new wedding in Cochrane with some hopeful snow will be just as beautiful and just what they wanted; quality time with friends and family on their special day.
