Haley was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While at Mt. Lebanon High School, she was the captain of her high school’s color guard and winter guard team. She then graduated in 2021 from Chatham University with a major in English and a minor in Professional Writing. She currently works for PNC Bank.


In her free time, Haley loves going to used bookstores to add to her vintage/antique book collection, caring for her houseplants and garden, and watching scary movies.

John was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. While at St. Pius X Catholic High School, he competed with his high school’s cross country team and earned the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from The University of Pittsburgh in 2022 with a major in Human Resources. He currently works for PNC Bank.


In his free time, John loves reading books and playing hockey.

They both have a passion for cooking. Together, they keep a garden and are currently growing strawberries, green peppers, and cucumbers. The drive-in is one of their favorite date night activities. They also love to travel so they look forward to all the adventures they will go on in the future.

In 2018, Haley went to Panera in Oakland, which is between both of their college campuses. She was standing behind John in line. While waiting for their food, they began chatting. They ended up sitting together while they ate their dinner. They sat there for hours just talking and talking. They have been inseparable ever since.

They got engaged on June 19, 2021, at Presque Isle State Park, Lake Erie. While watching the sunset at a restaurant called The Cork, they ate incredible food. After the meal, the waiter brought a slice of cheesecake to their table and then quickly walked away. When she looked at the dessert, she noticed an engagement ring was on top of the cheesecake. She was so surprised! John said, "Will you marry me?" and, of course, Haley said yes. Everyone at the restaurant started clapping, and a live band at the restaurant played a song for them.
