Pete and Haley met in Maryville, MO at a friends BBQ. Haley brought her Dads homemade pickles to the BBQ and Pete asked for one. One simple question lead to Pete pretending he knew how to play Pitch to keep talking with Haley. Followed by a night at the world famous Outback. Not the steak house, the grimy but favorite college bar. This is where Haley forced Pete to take their first photo. After that night, Haley focused on graduating and Pete focused on making countless trips from Hillview, IL to Maryville, MO to keep seeing Haley. When Haley graduated and went to her graduation party she was surprised to see multiple pictures around the party of herself and Pete. Her Dad managed to get a picture of them from that first night they met and plastered it all over the walls of the graduation party. Haley tried to explain to her Dad that Pete lived in a tiny town hours away and she didn't see herself moving there so they were not dating. Her Dad did not take the pictures down. Haley ended up going back to Maryville for her Masters. Pete and Haley hit it off again during homecoming and a few months later Haley finally came around to visiting that tiny town. Although Haley wasn't immediately in love with Hillivew, she liked Pete enough to continue dating long distance. When Haley graduated again she moved to Kansas City and continued long distance dating with Pete. After a year of living in Kansas City, Pete convinced Haley to move to Hillivew "just for one year". Haley decided to move to Hillivew to be with Stone... and Pete. Within that first year, Haley and Pete had fallen more in love with each other and shockingly in love with Hillview. They made incredible friends, found new outdoor activities to do with Stone and learned how to cook better. Due to not having very many restaurants around. Haley and Pete made no plans of leaving Hillview after year 1. By a year and a half of living together, Pete proposed to Haley. Pete proposed at a spot in the bluffs that overlooks the ranch fields. It is their favorite spot to have date nights and take friends to. They decided to have their wedding close to their home that they love and grew up together in.
