Isla Mujeres is a five-mile-long tropical oasis where the natural beauty dials up and the pace of life slows way, way down.

Before you set off to Isla Mujeres, you should stop by your local bank and convert your dollars to pesos. You will get a better conversion rate here. It is smarter to use cash on the island.
A trick my mom taught me to roughly convert pesos to dollars is "divide the amount of pesos by 2, then take away a zero". So if you take 100 pesos, divide by 2, you would get 50, then drop a zero, and you get 5 USD!!!
You will fly into The Cancun International Airport. Once you land, you should make sure that you have pesos for the next leg of transportation. Then you will need to use "CARM" transportation to Puerto Juárez for the Ultramar Ferry.
CARM Transfers is a great way to get from the airport to the ferry. You should buy your ferry ticket through this transportation company.
They will meet you at the airport with a sign showing their logo.
Use the code CARMCARES to get $5 off your round trip transfer.
In the notes, write "Traylor Wedding" so they know you are with our group.
The dock is located in Puerto Juarez, a 30 minute drive from Cancun Airport. There will be an opportunity for you to buy tickets at the dock, but we encourage you to buy your tickets through "CARM" transportation.
Ultramar ferry boats leave every half hour from 5 a.m. until 9:30 p.m., and every hour after that.
Once you are on the island, you can walk or pedicab to your hotel or airbnb. Everything you need on the island is on the north side. See below for hotel recommendations.
Our wedding will be hosted on the North side of the island. This is where many of the hotels and restaurants are as well.
I have listed below some hotel options, but there are so many more than what I have listed. There are cheaper options as well as all inclusive splurge options.
The Ixchel Beach Hotel is our #1 recommendation. The hotel is directly next to the Mayan Beach Club where our wedding will take place. This is where the couple and wedding party will be staying.
This hotel has breakfast included every morning. It has an all inclusive price and a non all inclusive price. It is a very nice resort that is in the perfect location. You would be neighboring the bride and groom's hotel.
If you are looking for a less expensive option, this is the spot for you! With rates around $85 / night, this hotel offers the best deal for the amenities.
This hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the venue, but it is on the rocky side instead of the beach side. You will still get ocean views and a hammock on your balcony.
These condos are attached to our wedding venue. They have a kitchenette. They have options with single rooms, 2 room suites, and different view options.
