Just like any classic love story, it all started with a match on Bumble. After texting for a while, we finally met for our first date at Crafthouse in Arlington. Tyler showed up almost an hour late thanks to DMV traffic and a missed exit but made up for it by buying many bourbon and cokes :) We talked, laughed, and bonded over our love of bourbon and dogs for hours until the restaurant closed and we were forced to finally end our date, but immediately planned a 2nd for a few days later. This time, Tyler showed up on time and with his dog, Bucky :)

Bucky quickly fell in love with Haley after they were trapped in an elevator for over an hour together. Luckily, Haley had a pocket full of treats to keep him entertained. Bucky has now become a big momma's boy and would sell Tyler for a cheeseburger.

Now a few years later, we have enjoyed many trips around the country, taking in another fluffy dog, and moved in together. From Mario Kart date nights to dirt bike trips, Tyler keeps Haley laughing the whole time, even if its laughing at him as he falls down a mountain. Always looking for excuses to get a new bottle of bourbon, we have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, Haley finishing her MBA, and many random nights just because Haley found it on sale.

After Christmas in 2023, we took our normal trip to Maine with Tyler's family, but Tyler had a surprise planned. December 30, 2023, on his grandmother's birthday, although it was 35 and rainy, Tyler insisted they go to The Sanctuary, a nature reserve in Maine that goes out to the ocean. As they got out to the point, Tyler got down on one knee and said "You said you wanted a ring for Christmas....Will you marry me?" Haley, obviously, said yes! :)

The sun started to peak through the clouds (thanks Pika) for us to celebrate. Haley was quick to facetime her family to show off her new ring, which was extra special as the main diamond was taken from Tyler's Mom's engagement ring. We celebrated out at dinner that night with family, and of course had bourbon and coke :)

Now we get to celebrate our love with all our family and friends in May 2025!
