We had known each other through work but had never considered giving each other the time of day. One day we were sitting outside on a work trip commiserating about our jobs and our roles in life and what we wanted for the future. We looked at one another and realize we are the same person and had a connection that neither one of us could ignore. We packed our stuff up and went to bed with butterflies in our stomachs because we both knew something just changed. The rest is messy, complicated, beautiful, and just life. We couldn’t be happier.
