Our Wedding

We’ve all heard the classic “meet cute” stories — bumping carts in the grocery store, teaming up in online gaming, locking eyes across a volleyball court… ours? Way more 21st century. We met on a dating app. Yep, the ol’ “Hey :)” opener actually worked. (Take notes, single people.) After one night of nonstop texting, we planned our first date. Tim showed up with white lilies (smooth move) and we crushed some tacos (true love always starts with tacos). To keep the night going, we headed to the Mega Caverns in Louisville to see Christmas lights. Picture us laughing, talking, and sitting in traffic for an hour and a half — if you can survive that on date one, you know it’s meant to be. Every year since, we’ve recreated that first date — because we’re sentimental like that (and also because tacos are never a bad idea). Little did we know it was the first day of the rest of our lives. Fast forward: we dated through 2023, moved in together in summer 2024, and on December 6th, 2024, Tim popped the question in Duluth, MN on the shore of Lake Superior. Halie squealed, laughed, maybe ugly-cried a little, and said “YES.” Now here we are, with four years of memories, inside jokes, and questionable dance moves behind us — and forever to go.

If you are flying straight into Louisville, you will be entering SDF airport. Our venue is a 13 min drive from the airport. There are hotels that are right by the airport if you prefer, as well as numerous hotels near our venue. Hotels that are close to our venue are:-Hotel Genevieve: 730 E Market St, Louisville, KY 40202 (~6 min drive)-Home2 Suites by Hilton Louisville Downtown Nulu: 240 S Hancock St, Louisville, KY 40202 (~7 min drive)-Holiday Inn Express &amp; Suites Louisville Downtown: 800 W Market St, Louisville, KY 40202 (~8 min drive)Louisville also has a lot of Air BnB's as well if you are interested in more room. If interested look for ones that are close to 1860 Mellwood Ave, Louisville, KY 40206. If you are driving from Minneapolis/St. Paul it is about a 10 hour and 15 minute drive. Louisville is on Eastern Standard time as well. (1 hour ahead)
