The BULA BUS of course! The Bula Bus is a service running every 15 minutes from all the major resorts and hotels on Denarau Island. A 4 day pass can be purchased from your resort for $24 FJD (around $16 AUD). This service runs from 7:30am to 11:30pm. There are also taxis available which can be booked with your hotel or resort.

The benefit of Denarau Island is you have access to all the resorts in the area! This said, hotel guests are always prioritised so if they’re full/busy you may not get served; but this is not to say you can’t put the bill on someone who is staying there’s room *wink*. The time of year we are going is the shoulder season.

The direct from Canberra flight for the Tuesday has been cancelled. Fiji Airways still does a great deal through Sydney as well as Virgin & Qantas. Alternatively, you could get a Murray’s bus to Sydney and fly from there for cheap!

As much as we love all the kids in our lives, to give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears; we politely request no children at any of the organised events. We do not mind if you choose to bring your family along with you, it’s your holiday too! we hear Fiji has world renowned nannies.

Cloud 9 is Fiji's first and original two level floating platform with an internationally stocked bar and Italian wood-fired pizzeria surrounded by turquoise blue water and picturesque views. Think R&R, wood fired pizzas, cocktails, beer, snorkelling and a DJ. I will confirm prices closer to the date, expect around $160 AUD per person for return transfer from the resort to the island. There will be unlimited drinks & food on a bar tab.

Events start Friday and finish with the recovery at Cloud9 on Monday but you could stay a week or more and have a well deserved holiday! Hamish and I will be there from the 20th of May, you’ll find us sipping cocktails by the pool.

Sofitel has a portion of its hotel dedicated to adults only called Waitui Beach Club. Enjoy roving refreshments served between 11am and 3pm (I have heard this often replaces the need to purchase lunch) and complimentary drinks and canapés from 5pm to 6pm. To enjoy this part of the resort you must book a waitui beach club room or a room that has specific access to this area, check when booking if you want to access the adults only pool, bar & restaurant + included benefits. This is where Hamish and I will be spending most of our time. Day passes to the beach club are available if it is not busy but there are no guarantees as guests who have paid for the Waitui rooms get priority.
