Amy has been my best friend for over 15 years now! We met early on in high school when by some stroke of luck, our math teacher had forgotten to put my name down in his seating plan. Amy, who I’d just happened to chat with before class said “pssst, sit in front of me!”. While I don’t remember much about trigonometry, I do remember the many giggles we shared, and the threats from our teacher to move our seats if we didn’t stop!
From sneaking out to high school parties (sorry Dad), making goofy YouTube videos thinking we’d one day be stars, playing video games and just being all around hooligans together; Amy’s been there for it all. My ups and downs, my tears from laughing too hard, and the ones from life feeling too heavy.
She is someone I have always felt comfortable being my 100% authentic self with, and always keeps me laughing… even if we’re the only ones that think the joke is funny. We have too many inside jokes to count, and if you’re stuck in a conversation with us, you may end up confused at some point because we often reference them. We can’t help it, it’s like our secret language!
Amy and I are so close that when I met Alex, I gave an upfront disclaimer that Amy and I are a package deal, and thank goodness Alex loves her just as much as I do!
We’ve always said that we’re each other’s first soulmate. Fate brought us together, and boy am I happy it did!
Kevin Bozzo - Best Man
Kevin and I met all the way back in elementary school. The internet was still very primitive in this time so our only communication available was through a long string tied by two tin cans. Over the many years we’ve been friends; some years closer than others, we’ve always been sure to remain in contact. Even if it was only by the two tin cans on a string. We’ve been through many times together and were always sure to laugh through all the misfortunes along the way. We did a lot of growing up with one another and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten into more trouble than I had with this guy. We really were tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber. From the constant sneaking out, the underage drinking and skipping class, I’m surprised to be alive today. There’s been a lot of history between us and we really are two dumb pees in one dumb pod. That’s probably what makes our friendship so easy. To this day we keep in better contact and I’m happy to say I’ve always got a friend in Kev.
Victoria Woodstock - Bridesmaid
Victoria and I met when I started working at The Keg about 14 years ago, and was one of my first friends there. She welcomed me in, and made me feel at home right away. We started as work friends, and quickly started hanging out outside of work as well, where so many of my favourite memories took place!
Road tripping while loudly singing songs in the car, days at the beach, cottage weekends, and drunken nights accompanied by too many jagger bombs to count.
Vic is the queen of games, so you know when she’s around there will be Flip Cup or Ride the Bus. She knows how to keep a good time going, and how to make everyone in the room feel like family!
There are so many good times that come up when I think of Vic, and every one is filled with so much joy. She is a big reason I even met Alex in the first place, and for that I’ll be forever grateful. (Check out “Our Story” to hear about that!)
Shane Sukhu - Groomsman
For those that know, I’ve been heavily into the music scene through most of my teen years and beyond. Shane was the guy that really helped solidify the passion for music and art. Attempt after attempt to find a serious vocalist for our band we got one submission that really felt like a good fit from the start. I’ll never forget the time he just let himself into the jam room because we didn’t hear the knocking on the door. His entrance into my life was a lot like that. He just barges his way in. He’s got a headstrong nature which I respect and I admire his ability to communicate clearly. We’ve been able to work alongside one another as well as be silly goofballs and still get things done. Work hard play harder as they say. Through cross country tours, countless shows, terrible and great bandmates, we’ve seen many times that most people don’t get to experience. I’m happy to call Shane a friend and I know he’ll be there for wherever our future endeavours take us.
Alannah Broadley - Bridesmaid
Alannah and I have known each other the shortest amount of time, still at almost 8 years! We met while working at The Keg and have grown closer and closer as we get older.
During our Keg days we made some amazing memories that will last forever. Some of my favourite moments with Alannah are spent at events like baseball tournaments, or Keg Cup, which is meant to be about snow sports, but we would use it as an excuse to drink, dance and be our goofy selves! We were definitely subject to Victoria’s many jagger bomb shots during this time, and survived it together… barely!
Over the years we’ve bonded on having similar tastes in music, podcasts and shows. If Alannah’s around, you know there’s going to be a killer playlist, and a delicious signature drink or two! We also share a very similar outlook on the world, and I’ll say it’s always refreshing to connect on a deep level like that with her.
She is such a ray of sunshine, and always knows how to make her friends feel loved and appreciated. She’s always there to help calm your mind, and I’ll say that’s definitely come in handy while planning a wedding!
Spencer Wilson - Groomsman
The way we met was still hazy but it was definitely in high school. Everyone knew Spenny in our school. We’ve made some fun little memories sharing classes together and bonding over our mutual love for music. Through my college years we admittedly lost contact but it was the love for music that brought us together again. We saw what one another was doing through social media and have basically become a force to be reckoned with ever since. To this day we find ourselves working together as a musicians and directors as we develop our brands simultaneously. I’m always looking forward to what we’re going to cook up next.
