Lodging Recommendations:

We are recommending our guests to stay in Kihei if they have not visited the island before. It is more affordable and central in location than the resort areas of Wailea and Kaanapali. Keep in mind that hotels can be expensive on the island and there are plenty of options on Airbnb/Vrbo.

Transportation:

There are the normal options at the airport through the main car rental agencies. Many people also use Turo on the island when the car rental agencies raise their price. Cheaper options are the local car rental agencies such as Kimo's Rent-A-Car, Maui Cruisers, and Aloha Rent A Car where you can rent a used/island car or truck.

We do have uber/lift on the island, but they typically only run during the day and it can be hard to find one during certain times of the day.
