A Brief Story About Our Love

Picture of A Brief Story About Our Love

“A version of events according to Mike”

Hanhie and I met in mid-2018 in Austin, Texas. Hanhie worked at Kona Grill about a block away from my former apartment in the Domain.

After several weeks of relentless pursuit, I ultimately agreed to a date. Early in our relationship we went to some fireworks together on the Fourth of July. On our drive home, I pulled off what can only be described as a wildly impressive, Nascar-evasive maneuver, narrowly missing an oncoming, erratic vehicle - saving, not only Hanhie’s life, but the lives of two of her friends in my car as well. It was precisely in this moment when I knew Hanhie had fallen madly in love with me. From that point forward honestly it was just a whole lot more of me sweeping her off her feet.

I proposed on New Year’s Eve 2021 in Taos, New Mexico during heavy snowfall and truth be told I wasn’t even nervous at all. I did however put the ring on her right hand, which is evidently the wrong hand from what I’ve been told. Correct finger, incorrect hand. I accept zero blame for this amateur mistake, and also give me a break, this was my first and only attempt at proposing, I already mentioned the extensive snowfall which impaired my vision, and I actually was a little nervous. I lied before when I said I wasn’t nervous because I was trying to look cool.

Fast forward to present day, despite my (and Hanhie’s) desire to take a run at the title for “World’s Longest Engagement,” we’ve decided to forego any such record and, with great joy, we have set a date and location for our wedding. Your attendance is humbly requested and would be greatly appreciated.

Come party with us in Colorado!

P.S. In case you were wondering Hanhie requested that I create the content for this section. So this is what you get.
