With a grand opening on Alex’s birthday, December 14th of 2023, Big Grove is a great venue with indoor and outdoor seating.  They have a variety of beers on tap to meet everyone’s pallet and mixed drinks.

The Beach Boys are in town the Friday night before our wedding (July 12th). We’ve attended many concerts there over the last handful of years and always have had the best time! If you happen to “get around” and need something to do, “wouldn’t it be nice” to take advantage of this opportunity. While we might not be in “Kokomo” Cedar Rapids comes close to it this time of year.

McGrath Amphitheatre - Beach Boys

Whether you’re trying to get a work out in, or get views from the only rooftop bar in town, Pickle Palace may be worth checking out! With 4 indoor pickleball courts, a full food menu with bars on the 1st and 3rd floors, Pickle Palace has something for everyone. Look out towards downtown and the river or towards the west with their double sided rooftop bar. This venue also has shuffleboard and duck pin bowling.

With Clock House brewing situated in the back of the venue, a rotating food menu and a timeless look, Black Sheep is a unique local venue worth checking out with an extra touch of class for downtown.

Palisades-Kepler State Park is a beautiful outdoor destination on the banks of the Cedar River outside Cedar Rapids. This is where we had our engagement photos done at! Dramatic river bluffs, deep ravines, majestic hardwood trees and an abundance of wildlife characterize the area, and Native American Indian mounds mark the early history of the park.

A unique experience awaits at 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where visitors can walk, run, or bicycle to the top of Mount Trashmore! The highest point in Linn County, Mount Trashmore is a former landfill turned community asset.
