Engagement Story

On Friday night, Jeff had asked me to go to breakfast on Saturday morning, but an exact time was not set. At 7 am, he called to wake me up and told me to go out into the kitchen. Sitting on my table was donuts and milk, one of my favorites breakfast meals. Next to that was a big envelope with a letter inside and a smaller envelope. He told me to eat, get ready, and open the small envelope at 8:15. As 8:15 slowly came, I was eager to open the next clue. It told me to go down to my car. Not only had he filled my car with gas, but in my car was the next envelope holding the next letter and small envelope. The letter told me to go to Mount Sequoyah where a familiar face would be waiting and to open the small envelope once I was there. As I pulled up, Mandy Eoff, the woman who disciples me, was waiting for me. In the small envelope there was a list of things to pray for. After talking with her for a while, she gave me my next big envelope. That letter told me to go to Nails Spa, where another familiar face would be waiting. Once I got there, I opened the small envelope and inside it was a gift certificate for two pedicures. Alex, my best friend since high school, was there and had come up from College Station. We caught up while being pampered. After this, she gave me the next envelope. It said to go to Auntie Annie's in the mall, where another familiar face would be waiting. I got there to see Lauren Edwards, another friend from high school who also goes to the University of Arkansas. In the small envelope was money for shopping spree!! We shopped for a while and then she gave me the next envelope. It said to go to the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks to find another familiar face waiting. When I got there, Jeff was waiting with an umbrella (because it was a little rainy) and we walked back to this covered area and there was the last letter. This was a long letter, but after I was done reading it, he had me stand up and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!! Then, Livvy, the girl I disciple, came out from around the corner after taking pictures of the whole thing! After all of this, it was lunch time, so Jeff took me to Shogun for lunch. As we were walking back and taking up a whole hibachi grill was our families! After eating and taking a lot of pictures, we headed to my apartment to watch the Hog basketball game. While we were watching the game, Katy Cox, another best friend from high school, came in after driving up from Lubbock to surprise me! After all of these surprises, things were starting to settle down and I thought the surprises were over. At this point it was just our friends and we were trying to figure out what to do for the night. I suggested laser tag (because its my favorite) and everyone agreed with me (for the first time ever)! When we got to Fast Lanes, we walked in and 30 of our closest friends and family were there waiting! This was all planned by Jeff and he had rented out the laser tag room for 30 minutes for all of us to play!! To sum it all up, this was the best day ever!!!
