Christian's Side of the Story

Prince Harry's got nothing on me. Let's just say that. I wanted to make this day as special for Hanna as I could.I took her out for brunch one Sunday morning to a historical, 5-star hotel here in Colorado. I had a photographer hiding by some bushes to capture the special moment in front of the hotel. As we approached the hotel, I told her there was something important that I needed to get off my chest, and it couldn't wait any longer. I spoke from the heart and asked her to marry me.Given the extravagance of the day and the timing, she might've expected a proposal.

But she didn't know that I had gotten her off work the next day and that we were staying at the hotel that night. It was an unbelievable experience, and we got to spend a couple days reflecting on all of our blessings in life...as well as think about what color napkins will be at our wedding...

Hanna's Side of the Story

I had my suspicions that Christian would propose on February 17. What really gave it away was when he started asking when we should take pictures...I still wasn't sure if he would propose though, because I wanted it to be on a Friday or Saturday and our date was on a Sunday.

Nonetheless, I got a new dress, new shoes, got my nails and hair done (just in case!). The moment Christian got down on one knee I experienced so many emotions that I didn't register what he was saying and immediately said "YES"!It was the cherry on top when Christian told me that he arranged for me to be off on Monday and that we would be staying at the world's fanciest hotel!

The Broadmoor will always hold a special place in our heart and will be a place that we can take our future kids to and share with our special engagement story.
