Hannah and Nathan first met while they were on their college club teams circa de 2014. They swam against each other, and Nathan smoked Hannah at the pumpkin relay! They both served on their respective club executive boards, Hannah as president and Nathan as treasurer. They added each other on Facebook and I wish I could say the rest was history but it was not. They did not interact again for several years but somehow, Hannah made the cut for Nathans “facebook friend purge.”

Come March of 2020 the world began to shut down from the COVID 19 pandemic, but Nathan and Hannah were just heating up! They made contact with each other while Nathan was living in Savannah and Hannah was in quarantine on Fripp Island, SC. They had their first date in April 2020 but Nathan was convinced a long distance relationship was out of the question. They reconnected again in Fall of 2020 and Nathan promptly friend zoned Hannah, how RUDE! Hannah’s inability to take no for an answer paid off, though, and they began dating December 26, 2020.

They knew early on that they were a good match for each other but with Hannah applying for residency across the country, the future was unclear. In March 2021, Hannah found out she was staying in Augusta to complete her residency in Anesthesia! Hannah and Nathan continued to date long distance while Hannah completed her intern year and Nathan continued to work for Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA. After a year and a half of dating, Nathan took a leap of faith and moved to Augusta to be with Hannah, and the rest was history!

Together, Hannah and Nathan have taken on Amsterdam, Puerto Rico, Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville, Hawaii, Elon, Durham, Colorado (hello engagement), a cruise going to Caymen Islands, Rotan, Belize City, and Cozumel, and Charleston! Together they love to travel and they consider themselves to be foodies! Speaking of foodies—they will try anything once and together tried Iguana!!! While in Rotan, Honduras!

The relationship would not be complete without mention of our baby doggo, Shadow! She is a princess through and through. Although Nathan rescued her in Summer 2020, Hannah is absolutely her favorite of the two! She loves snuggles, burying under the covers, barking in the backyard, and walking to the nearby park! She loves her squeaker toys and nylabones, and is a nap QUEEN!

The future continues to look up for Hannah and Nathan. After residency Hannah has plans to apply to an anesthesia fellowship and Nathan is currently working on his prerequisites to apply for a Masters of Perfusion. The love they have for each other is second to none and if they can survive residency, a move with a career change, and planning a wedding – they are sure they can conquer anything!
