The saying is true, “love happens when it happens.”

Now if you would’ve told these two that they would have fallen in love at a work training/retreat they wouldn’t have believed it. Okay, one of the two would’ve believed it and they met doing the simplest thing… a card game. Not even Alex Hitchens could’ve come up with that.

Of course, two people don’t fall in love because of a card game. What makes two people fall in love is how their hearts intertwine. If we could peak into the hearts of these two we would unsurprisingly see plenty of similarities. Both hearts have been darkened by the amount of caffeine intake. Both have this pulsating light from encountering Jesus. Both have desires towards service, community, fun, and adventure. Oh yes, and both have hearts that are strong willed. This will definitely make for a beautiful companionship!

Every good love story has its beginning challenge and theirs happened to be distance. Yes, these two have been in a long distance relationship from the beginning. One a damsel in the arctic tundra, that is northern Michigan. The other a winsome southern boy who could use an etiquette or two over table manners. Distance has definitely been an obstacle, but it is nothing they have not been able to overcome with nightly FaceTimes and planned rendezvous. These two might have been distant but there love for each other has never been disconnected. Rumor has it, Marvin Gaye would’ve based “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” off these two and their pursuit for each other.

It seems, that for these two, time has been funneling to this coming together moment that we call a wedding. They are both excited to share this day with you as you’ve played a role in their stories becoming one. Now, this isn’t the string attachment theory, but it is love and it happens when it happens.
