On October 26th, 2018 (exactly 6 years before their wedding day), a Halloween Party at Rhinegeist brewery brought Hannah, stunningly attired as a smoking hot Benjamin Franklin, face to face with Grady, charmingly portraying Nintendo’s Luigi. At first glance, Hannah saw Grady as a serendipitous gift from her Italian ancestors, exclaiming internally, “Oh my god! He’s a paisan!” Little did she know, fate had more surprises in store.

Intrigued by the enigmatic man in green, Hannah's interest deepened after their introduction by mutual friend Brigitta, who couldn't resist remarking, “I can’t believe I never put two and two together, but you guys couldn’t be more perfect of a match.” Despite not falling instantly in love that night, destiny ensured their paths would cross once more the very next night at yet another Halloween gathering.

Bold as ever, Hannah approached Grady (still in his Luigi guise) to buy him a drink, only to be taken aback when he appeared with two in hand. Their encounter, unfortunately, was brief, akin to Cinderella's hasty retreat.

Over the ensuing weeks, chance meetings continued until Grady mustered the courage to ask Hannah out. Despite her impending departure for a four-month internship in Croatia, Grady persisted, adamant about seizing the opportunity.

Their inaugural date, filled with the enchanting glow of zoo lights and the ambiance of Nicola’s Italian restaurant, left an indelible mark, even as they parted ways a week later.

During the subsequent four-month hiatus, with Hannah traversing Europe and Grady transitioning into the post-college world, they remained in intermittent contact, both pondering what could have been.

In the summer of 2019, they found themselves reunited at the renowned karaoke night held at Mac’s Pizza Pub in Clifton, Ohio. With each shared song, they unknowingly began a melodic journey of togetherness, harmonizing their hearts in perfect rhythm. In August that year, on a walk through the park and across the Roebling Bridge the two discussed their future and decided to begin dating.

While Grady navigated the waters of adulthood and Hannah approached graduation, their shared dreams painted a vivid picture of a future together in Cincinnati. Despite the challenges posed by a pandemic, their burgeoning love infused them with resilience, strengthening their bond with each passing day.

Reflecting on their journey, they cherished the evolution they underwent together, from Hannah's newfound feline affection to Grady's culinary passion and more. Their adventures, be it exploring forest trails or urban landscapes, underscored their shared optimism and unwavering commitment to one another.

In 2018, we could not have foreseen the twists and turns that awaited us. Nevertheless, we embraced the uncertainty, standing side by side, with humor wit and endless laughter, prepared to confront any obstacles that came our way. As we step into this new chapter of life, we are thankful to be best friends and each others brightest lights, illuminating the path ahead.
