Hannah and Steven met in the spring of 2017 while training to be summer orientation leaders. Hannah sat right next to Steven and their very first conversation was bonding over poor hydration habits. Over the next several weeks, the two grew very close from spending many late nights and sharing inside jokes together. 

The two of them met up a few times to study during the semester but Steven finally decided to ask Hannah on a real date on October 28th. They met up and walked to SoHi, a sandwich shop in Oxford, together and spent the rest of the evening chatting and giggling. She loved his goofy Demeanor and he loved making her laugh. Very quickly, it became every Saturday they would get dinner and close down the restaurant of choice because they would lose track of time. After more dates, a denim semi formal, and matching sinus infections they decided to become official. 


The two of them continued their studies, for Steven in Computer Science and Hannah in Chemical Engineering. They prioritized each other in addition to their extracurricular activities in Greek life over the next 3 years. One night before graduation, Steven asked Hannah if she wanted to Kiss under Upham Arch, a popular Miami tradition. They snuck away right before midnight and promised to be together forever.

As senior pictures came they did them together and waited in line under the arch. As it became their turn, Hannah was getting nervous (classic) about the large audience that was gathering around the building. They went under the arch and posed together. Before they knew it, the crowd was chanting, “kiss, kiss, kiss.” He kissed her, and Hannah promptly shouted back to the crowd, “That’s my brother.” No context. It wasn’t something she said before, just came out of her mouth. To the enjoyment of all, Hannah’s younger sister and Maid of Honor, Emily was there hiding in the bushes, recording and capturing the moment.

In November of 2023, Steven had picked out a ring perfect to propose.
Steven sprung to action once it arrived and took Hannah to one of their favorite Medina restaurants. Then they went to the square so they could enjoy the Christmas lights. When enough people had dissipated, and the time was right, he took her up the stairs of the gazebo next to the decorated tree and asked her to be his wife. Hannah quickly said yes, jumped up and took the ring from the box. 


Hannah and Steven are so excited for this season of life and cannot wait to celebrate their commitment to each other on December 28th.
