Sunset Champagne Cruise - March 4th 2026 6.00PM Cape Town Cycle Tour Traffic for Wednesday March 4th -We do not expect any abnormal congestion or road closures on this day. We will be sailing on the Mirage Catamaran located at V&amp;A Waterfront. The V&amp;A waterfront is one of Cape Town’s major tourist attractions with a wide variety of shops, restaurants and museums – we highly recommend that you come early to explore the area! The catamaran is docked in the V&amp;A Waterfront near the swing bridge, clocktower side of the Waterfront. If you are driving yourself, you can park at the Clock Tower parking and walk across the swing bridge. The Mirage is docked directly on your righthand side as you come over the bridge. You should also be able to Uber to and from this location. Let us know as soon as possible if you need any help with transportation. Please arrive to board the Catamaran between 5.30 and 6.00 PM. Don’t forget Cape Town traffic around rush hour can get very congested so come early if you can. The Catamaran will leave the dock at 6.30 PM. Attire is casual – Hawaiian shirts are encouraged. Make sure to bring something warm to wear for when the sun goes down. If you suffer from seasickness, we suggest taking anti-nausea tablets at least one hour before boarding. We will be serving drinks, canapes and mini mains on board. The Catamaran will return to the dock at around 9 to 9.30PM. Let us know as soon as possible if you will need help with transportation.

Cape Winelands Wine Tour March 5th 2026 from 9AM Cape Town Cycle Tour Traffic for Thursday March 5th - Avoid the Waterfront area if possible. Access will still be possible throughout the day, but traffic is expected to be very congested. We will be taking two busses to the winelands. Your bus assignments are based on your accommodation location for Wednesday night and can be found using <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HqNXChNCmrqqnwtRigRhzykzKYRNI4db/edit?usp=sharing&amp;ouid=106195803553751709208&amp;rtpof=true&amp;sd=true" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">this link</a>. Please take the bus you are assigned to or let us know if you would like to switch and we will try to accommodate the change. For those on the Hout Bay pick up list, please meet the bus at 9AM that will transport us to Stellenbosch. The Hout Bay bus will be at Fresh Stop, 25 Main Road, Scott Estate, Hout Bay. Local Braai and Reception - Friday March 6th 4PM Cape Town Cycle Tour Traffic for Friday March 6th - Travel from the Hout Bay and Clifton areas to the reception venue in Plumstead should be manageable (via M63/Constantia Neck), and we do not anticipate any major issues getting through. (Around Green point and Cape Town City Centre travel will be tricky due to road closures and congestion so plan for extra time if you need to travel through these areas). The braai will be held at The Homestead 23 Bardia Road, Plumstead. Wedding Ceremony and Reception - Saturday March 7th 2026 Cape Town Cycle Tour Traffic for Saturday March 7th - Chapman’s Peak Drive is officially closed from 6pm Saturday until 6pm on Sunday. All wedding guests will have full access into Tintswalo Atlantic prior to the wedding start. After the wedding, guests driving themselves home will be given a permit that will allow them to travel home along Chapman’s Peak drive towards Hout Bay or Noordhoek. Hotel shuttles are also available to drive guests back to their accommodation. Note that there will be NO access in and out of Tintswalo Atlantic once the race starts at 6am on Sunday morning. The wedding will be held at Tintswalo Atlantic hotel in Hout Bay. There is plenty of secured parking if you wish to drive yourself to the hotel. However, the road will be completely closed from 6AM on Sunday (when the race starts) until 6PM so you will have to drive home (with a permit from the hotel which can be found <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1otDujVyK6PGtkGG7IkPUW4kfSlAzBC4A/view?usp=sharing" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here)</a> after the wedding or retrieve your car after 6PM on Sunday. You should be able to Uber to the hotel for the wedding but will NOT be able to Uber home. The hotel has will provide shuttle rides home for those who have requested them. Please arrive at 4.30PM at the top parking lot. The hotel will shuttle you down to the lookout point for the wedding ceremony. The ceremony will be at 5.15 PM Attire is dressy/cocktail attire. Make sure you bring something warm for when the sun goes down. As the pathway from the lookout point down the steps to the guest lounge includes a gentle slope and natural surfaces, shoes that are comfortable and stable are highly recommended. Drinks and canapes will be served in the guest lounge immediately following the wedding ceremony. Dinner is at the Chef’s Warehouse, followed by dancing. Let us know as soon as possible if you will need help with transportation.

Important note on transportation - Sunday March 8th is the Cape Town Cycle Tour. Traffic in and around Cape Town and at the Airport on this day will be very congested, with multiple road closures expected throughout the peninsula. We highly recommend that you do not travel on this day but defer your departure until Monday March 9th. Please see Q&amp;A section for visa requirements and traveling with children under 18. Air TransportationDelta and United offer several non-stop flights from the USA to South Africa. The travel time is usually between 14 and 16 hours of flying time. Delta&nbsp;Atlanta (ATL) to Cape Town (CPT):&nbsp;three weekly flights.Atlanta (ATL) to Johannesburg (JNB):&nbsp;daily flights. United AirlinesNewark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Cape Town&nbsp;(CPT):&nbsp;three weekly flights.Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Cape Town&nbsp;(CPT): three weekly flights.Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Johannesburg (JNB): daily flights. In addition, there are multiple carriers that fly to both Cape Town and Johannesburg via Europe and the Middle East on a daily basis. &nbsp;There are no direct flights between Taipei and South Africa but several airlines fly to Johannesburg and Cape Town either through Europe or the Middle East, including Emirates, Cathay Pacific and Turkish Airlines. &nbsp;We recommend flying directly to Cape Town, but flying via Johannesburg is also a good option. Johannesburg to Cape Town is a 2 hour 15 minute flight and is served by multiple carriers.

Ground Transportation Car RentalsThe easiest way to get around Cape Town is by rental car. Several car rental companies operate at Cape Town International Airport (CPT), including&nbsp;Europcar, Hertz, Avis, Budget, Thrifty, and First Car Rental, located at the airport across from the main terminal.&nbsp;Other companies like Firefly, Keddy by Europcar, and Sixt also have a presence at the airport.&nbsp;&nbsp; Tips·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reservations are essential.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Notify the rental company if you are delayed – they often will not hold the car more than a few hours.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Most rental cars are manual drive (stick shift), make sure you specify if you want an automatic transmission if you need it.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;South Africa drives on the left-hand side of the road.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A valid foreign driver’s license is required. They offer convenient, reliable, and sometimes luxury transportation options. Chauffeur Services:&nbsp;Companies like SIXT ride and Soho VIP provide luxury chauffeur services for airport transfers, tours, and events. They offer a range of premium vehicles and professional drivers. Bus services are widely used and are generally thought to be safe. For safety reasons, we would not recommend using taxi services that have not been pre-arranged nor would we recommend using the train.&nbsp;

Travel

Important note on accommodation - Sunday March 8th is the Cape Town Cycle Tour. Hotels will be filling up fast so we recommend that you book early if you plan on attending the wedding from out of town. Tinswalo Atlantic Hotel is about a 15 minute drive from Hout Bay, a scenic seaside suburb situated on the Atlantic seaboard of the Cape Peninsula, in a valley surrounded by mountains to the north, east, and west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. It is located about 20 kilometers south of Cape Town's Central Business District and is about a 20 minute drive from Camps Bay. Due to it's small size, accommodation for guests other than the wedding party will not be available at the hotel over the wedding weekend. <a href="https://www.tintswalo.com/tintswalo-summer-house" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tintswalo Summer Beach Hotel</a> is a sister property of Tintswalo Atlantic, located near Kalk Bay, on the Indian Ocean side of the Peninsula, about a 20 minute drive to Tintswalo Atlantic. This newly opened hotel has 12 suites, available at a discounted rate to wedding guests. Shuttle service between the hotels can be provided on the day of the wedding. Please let us know if you are interested in this option, as booking has not yet opened for the hotel. Alternatively, Hout Bay and Camps Bay have multiple hotels that can be booked online and many rental homes and villas that can be rented through Airbnb or VRBO. Accommodation

Cape Town is the premier tourist destination in South Africa and offers a wide array of attractions and activities. The easiest way to see the sites is self-driving by car, but there are also several tour operators that provide site seeing tours that can be booked online. Things to Do

If you have a few extra days in Cape Town, here are some additional activities and sights we would suggest. Table Mountain CablewayThis is a major tourist attraction and is probably worth doing at least once in a lifetime. The cableway runs every day from 8am to 7pm and takes about 5-10 minutes. There are great views once you get to the top, especially on clear days. Check the Table Mountain website ( <a href="https://www.tablemountain.net/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Our African Wonder | Table Mountain</a>) to make sure the cableway is running as is sometimes closes for bad weather. Also check the wait times on their website, as these can be quite long at peak tourist times (go earlier in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds and long lines). Roundtrip tickets cost R490 per person (about $30) and are a bit cheaper if you get them online. You can also buy a fast pass for R1,100 (about $68) if you want to skip the line. You can walk around the top of the mountain admiring the views and there are several bars and restaurants on top of the mountain.The cableway is about a 30 minute drive from Hout Bay and about 15 minutes from Cape Town City Centre. The site recommends that you Uber to Lower Tafelburg bus stop and or park at the free Lower Tafelberg Road parking area and take free shuttle to the Lower Station. One of the CitySightseeing’s Hop On Hop Off bus (<a href="https://citysightseeing.co.za/en/cape-town/open-bus-tours-cpt" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Open Bus Tours Cape Town | City Sightseeing</a>) makes a stop at the cableway – make sure you have the right route that will stop at the cableway.Hiking up Table Mountain is an option but not recommended without an experienced guide. Chapman’s Peak DriveA must do if you are visiting Cape Town, especially on a clear day. This is a 9km scenic toll road carved into the cliffs between Hout Bay and Noordhoek, famous for its ocean and mountain views, 114 curves, and many viewpoints, often called one of the world's most beautiful drives. Toll fees for the drive are about $5 per car. Check for closures (<a href="https://www.chapmanspeakdrive.co.za/the-drive.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Drive - Chapmans Peak Drive</a>) as they sometimes close the road due to bad weather. To get there, head out of Hout Bay towards Noordhoek on the M6 – the toll booth is a few miles out of town. Once you are in Noordhoek, check out the shops and restaurants at the Noordhoek Farm village (<a href="https://thefarmvillage.co.za/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Noordhoek Farm Village - Welcome to the Village</a>) or stop by Cape Point Vineyards to taste the wine or have a lunch or a picnic lunch on the lawn (<a href="https://cpv.co.za/restaurants/picnic/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Picnic - Cape Point Vineyards</a>). Bookings for picnics are essential. If you have time, go back to Hout Bay via the Ou Kaapse Weg (M64) and Constantia Nek which is slightly longer but with different scenery through Constantia, one of Cape Towns most beautiful suburbs (if you have time stop by a few of the Constantia wine farms on the way home). Constantia WinelandsAbout 20-30 minutes from Hout Bay and Cape Town City Centre is Constantia, one of Cape Town’s most beautiful suburbs and its oldest wine producing area. There are several wine estates in Constantia, with the oldest and best-known being <a href="https://grootconstantia.co.za/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Groot Constantia Wine Farm</a>, open 7 days a week from 10AM to 5PM. You can do wine tastings, visit their museum and eat in one of their two restaurants. Another well-known wine estate is Buitenverwachting (<a href="https://buitenverwachting.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">HOME - Buitenverwachting</a>) which has an excellent restaurant. Other highly rated estates include Klein Constantia, Constantia Glen and Beau Constantia. Make sure you check their websites for opening hours as several of them are closed on certain days of the week. Take an Uber or drive (parking is plentiful). The City Sightseeing Hop on Hop off purple route (picked up at Constantia Nek) stops off at Groot Constantia, Beau Constantia and Silvermist Estates. Kirstenbosch National Botanical GardenKirstenbosch Botanical Garden is one of the world’s great botanic gardens, the first in the world dedicated to indigenous flora, with a particular focus on the Cape Floral Kingdom (the smallest yet most biodiverse of the world’s six floral kingdoms). You can walk around the grounds enjoying the plantings, walk the "Boomslang" canopy bridge and have lunch or tea in one of the restaurants that are on site. It is open from 8AM to 7Pm and entrance costs R250 per person (about $15).Kirstenbosch is a 20 to 30 minute Uber ride or drive from Hout Bay or Cape City Center depending on traffic. If you are coming from Hout Bay, take the M63 out of Hout Bay to get to the gardens. Lions Head HikeLions Head hike is a popular 3-3.5 mile round-trip trail that typically takes 2–4 hours to complete. It offers 360-degree views of Table Mountain and the city, featuring a moderate ascent with optional, more adventurous "chains" routes involving steep, rocky scrambles. The route is clearly marked. There is a little rock scrambling as you near the summit, but the only part of the trail that could be considered intimidating are the metal ladders and climbing chains required to ascend the rock face at one point that can be skipped via a roundabout footpath. For safety, don’t hike alone (groups of 3-4 are ideal), bring plenty of water and make sure you have a trail map before you start. Clifton and Camps BayClifton and Camps Bay are ultra-luxurious, adjacent coastal suburbs on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard, renowned for white sand beaches, clear waters, and spectacular ocean-front real estate (including "Millionaire's Row"). Clifton features four wind-sheltered, upscale coves, while Camps Bay offers a lively, family-friendly atmosphere with a bustling strip of restaurants and bars. As this is the Atlantic side of the Peninsula, the water is coming from Antarctica and is frigid year-round. Camps Bay is a short drive from both City Center and Hout Bay (via the M6), Clifton is a little further along on the same road. V&amp;A WaterfrontThis is a major tourist attraction in Cape Town, with numerous shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, museums, boat tours, and the Two Oceans Aquarium, located close to the Cape Town City Center. It also has the ferry that goes out to Robben Island and the Robben Island museum (where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years in prison). It should be easy to get an Uber to and from this location and parking is plentiful. It can get very busy and should be avoided closer to Cape Town Cycle Tour weekend, but should be fine to visit earlier in the week. From Hout Bay, travel on the M6 through Camps Bay, Clifton and Sea point/Greenpoint to get to the Waterfront. The Hop on Hop Off Bus also stops at V&amp;A Waterfront. As we are leaving for the Catamaran tour on Wednesday evening from V&amp;A Waterfront, come early and spend the afternoon checking out the area before the Catamaran meet up at 6PM. St James, Kalk Bay, Boulders PenguinsAbout a 30 minute to 40-minute drive from Hout Bay and Cape Town City center is a series of smaller towns along the Indian Ocean side of the peninsula that offer some great views of False Bay. Kalk Bay is a quirky little town with some interesting shops and restaurants and worth a stop if you have some time. Have lunch at the Olympia Café and Bakery, <a href="https://olympiacafe.co.za/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Olympia Cafe and Deli - Kalk Bay - Cape Town</a> a no-frills seafood restaurant on the main road (they serve great mussels). Keep going past Simon’s Town to see the colony of African penguins that hang out at Boulders Beach. While the main penguin viewing area has an entrance fee (and is a bit touristy), there is an adjacent public beach where you can swim, often alongside the penguins. Traffic along the Main Road that runs through St James, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek and Simonstown can get very congested so don’t go here if you are in a hurry to get somewhere else. Cape PointAt the tip of Africa is Cape Point, the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Part of the Table Mountain National Park, it has cliffs, beaches, and lots of indigenous fynbos vegetation and some great views. You might also spot some local birdlife, zebra, eland and baboons. As it is about 40 miles outside of Cape Town, this is usually an all-day excursion. Entrance into the National Park is fairly steep at R550 per person (about $34) and its about R110 ($7) to ride the funicular to the top of the viewing point (alternatively, you can walk up for free). There are shops and restaurants at the lookout point. There are several hiking trails and some tidal pools and swimming spots. If I'm invited solo, can I bring a plus one?Yes - you are welcome to bring a plus one. Please specify their name in the RSVP. Is there a gift registry?Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift. However, we have set up a new home fund - please use the Registry tab on the website if you would like to make a contribution. Any contribution, large or small, will be greatly appreciated. Do I need a visa to enter South Africa?US and UK citizens do not need a visa to visit South Africa for stays of up to 90 days. You will need a passport that is valid for at least 180 days beyond your intended stay and that has two consecutive blank pages for the entry stamp. Taiwanese citizens need a visa to travel to South Africa. The visitor’s visa application must be submitted prior to traveling to South Africa. Any special requirements if we're traveling with children under 18?For all travelers regardless of nationality: If you are traveling with a child under 18, in addition to their passport there is a mandatory requirement that you present an unabridged certified copy of their birth certificate which includes the details of both parents. How do I get to the Tinswalo Atlantic Hotel?Tinswalo Hotel is just off of Chapman’s Peak Drive, just before the toll booth. What if I don’t want to drive to the wedding?If you would prefer not to drive, we recommend that you Uber to the Hotel and the hotel will organize shuttle transportation back to your hotel or Airbnb in Hout Bay or Camps Bay after the festivities are over. Let her know you will be attending our wedding. What’s the weather like in March?March is late summer/early autumn. Expect warm days with a lot of sunshine. The sun can be stronger than many people expect, so make sure you wear a hat and apply sunblock regularly to avoid sunburn, especially in the days leading up to the wedding. It can get cool in the evenings when the sun goes down so bring something warm for the evenings. Occasional showers are possible. What should I pack?Light clothes for warm weather, lightweight jackets or sweaters for when the sun goes down. Hiking boots and attire – there are many excellent hikes in and around Cape Town. A swimsuit, as most hotels and Airbnbs will have a swimming pool. Neutral colored clothes if you plan to visit a game reserve area. How far is Hout Bay from everything?Hout Bay is a suburb of Cape Town, about a 25 minute drive from the city centre. It has a quiet village like atmosphere with a few local shops and restaurants. You will need to travel into Camps Bay, SeaPoint, V&amp;A Waterfront or City Centre to get closer to the action. Is Cape Town a safe city?Cape Town is generally safe but observe the usual precautions – don’t travel alone at night, watch your possessions, especially in tourist areas, stay on the beaten track – don’t stray into unknown areas. Can I swim in the sea?The water on the Atlantic seaboard is extremely cold year-round. The Indian Ocean side (Muizenberg, St James, Kalk Bay) is much warmer and swimming is common. What is driving like?Cape Town roads are generally good and rules of the road are very similar to the USA. Traffic can get very congested, especially at peak hours. Many roads will be closed for the Cape Town Cycle Tour on Sunday March 8th so getting around the peninsula will be difficult on that day. Driving is on the lefthand side of the road, which can be a challenge for some. Roads in certain areas of the peninsula are narrow and winding. What is load shedding?Eskom, South Africa’s power supplier, turns off power at certain times of the day when the demands on the grid are too much. These are usually scheduled power outages. It is advisable to check whether your hotel or Airbnb has a back up power supply for these outages. Is there a water shortage?No – while Cape Town is susceptible to drought, it currently has plenty of water. What language is spoken?English is spoken everywhere. Should I tip?Tipping at restaurants is common – usually 10%, 15% for excellent service. Tipping Uber drivers or deliveries is not expected but voluntary and prompted by the app. Tipping is not expected elsewhere, although loose change tips to the petrol station attendants or security personal at parking lots are appreciated. Can I use credit cards?Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. Make sure you have a Visa or Mastercard, as Amex and Discover are not always accepted.
