We met over drinks at South End—just two people trying to act cool while secretly wondering if the other one was as normal as they looked online. Spoiler: we were both better than normal. Conversation flowed like we’d known each other for years.
Naturally, in that early “let’s try new things together” phase, we decided to go hiking. It sounded cute. Adventurous. Outdoorsy. In reality it was hiking in February (nothing in bloom and super muddy). So, we did what any rational couple would do—we turned around and drove to Mount Airy, because if you’re not going to climb a mountain, you might as well go visit the hometown of Andy Griffith. Walking around the charming little town and laughing at how quickly our “outdoorsy date” turned into a silly road trip, we realized: we really loved being together.
Whether we're dancing at concerts, being cozy watching tv, or just doing nothing at all, everything feels better (and a lot more fun) when we’re together. Who knew a drink at South End would lead us to finding our favorite person?
