What time should I arrive at The Whim?

We are asking our guests to arrive by 5:30. The ceremony will start at 5:45.

Can I stay until midnight?

YES! We hope you ring in the new year with us. We will have a “midnight moment” and a shuttle will be available to take guests back to The Emery afterwards. Guests can also use Uber, Lyft or other taxi services to get home. We must be out of the venue by 12:30 a.m.

Is there parking?

Yes. The Whim has a large parking lot at the venue. It is an uncovered surface lot. We encourage guests to leave their cars at the venue overnight if they unable to drive home. The Whim asks that guests come get your car before noon the following day.

Is there a dress code?

We’re asking guests to dress up for New Year's, whatever that means to you. Suggestions: anything ranging from black pants and a top, to a button up shirt with our without a blazer, to a full-length dress. Be comfortable, have fun with it.

Will it be cold?

Yes. LOL. It's late December in Minnesota… prepare yourself. There will be space available to hang your coat at The Whim. Once you arrive you will not need to go outside again until you leave.

Are kids invited?

We have decided to only invite guests who are teenagers or older. With the exception of the ring bearers and flower girls, we ask that you keep your little ones at home and enjoy a fun night of celebration! Your invitation should indicate the family members invited. Let us know if you have any questions!
