Our Story

They first met ...
Hannah had decided online dating was not for her and was going to delete Hinge. As she went to delete it, she figured she would take one last look at that day's likes. As she was looking Josh's profile caught her eye. She decided to give it one last shot and messaged him. They hit it off, connecting over faith, hockey, and family. Eventually they moved from Hinge to texting, calling, and FaceTiming every day.

The first date that almost didn't happen ...
After a few weeks of talking, texting, and FaceTiming, they decided it was time to finally meet. However they couldn't decide on where. They wanted to meet in the middle, but neither were that familiar with the location. Josh took charge and said he would figure something out, but as the days got closer there still wasn't a plan. Hannah started to worry he just might not be that interested and offered to reschedule if that would be easier. He assured her he still wanted to meet, and just to head towards Winston Salem and they'd figure it out. Hannah figured that's what serial killers say to get a girl to meet at a random abandoned place and refused to go until a location was set. So they decided to meet at a Barnes and Noble and it was a FAIRYTALE date. They walked around laughing, talking, and getting to know one another. It went so well Josh asked her to get dinner afterwards. When the dinner was over they both hated to leave, but were already excited for a second date.

First time meeting Jameson ...
After a few more dates between just them, Josh decided it was time for Hannah to meet his son, Jameson. They met for lunch and talked hockey, baseball, school, friends, and life over pizza. After lunch they went to a Thunderbirds game together, where Hannah also got to meet Josh's sister and brother in law, as well as some of his friends. They got to cheer the team to victory together. When the game was over they didn't want the day to end, but looked forward to getting to make more memories together in the future.

The Proposal ... Josh had the perfect proposal all planned out, and Hannah had no idea what was coming. When they woke up, Jameson was excited to go to the flea market with Hannah's parents. Hannah and Josh were excited to have a morning to themselves. Hannah had wanted to take Josh to Holy Grind, a local coffee shop where she had prayed for her future husband for many years, but she woke up with a sore throat. She was still determined to take Josh there because it was so special to her, but he kept insisting they could do it another time when she was feeling better. So instead he went to the store and got her all kinds of medicines to get feeling better quickly. They had plans to meet her parents and Jameson for lunch, then they were going ice skating afterwards since they had promised to take Jameson. They were on their way to meet Hannah's parents when Josh said they'd stop and grab a coffee so she would have some energy. Hannah told him no, that it was the opposite direction and they didn't want to be late to meet her parents. Josh insisted he wanted to take her because he knew it was important to her. Hannah pushed back again because she didn't want to be late, but accepted it because she wasn't one to ever turn down coffee. When they walked in Hannah was surprised to find her family and friends ... including one that was supposed to be in the mountains that weekend. She turned and Josh had dropped to one knee. Josh was full of nerves and about to have a heart attack, but he got out the words "Will you marry me?" Hannah immediately said "YES, of course" and everyone was cheering. It was the most thoughtful and special proposal, in the perfect place. They were able to celebrate the next step in their relationship in a place where so many prayers had been prayed before they ever met. Jameson was excited for his dad and Hannah, but still wanted to make sure they were going ice skating that day. They celebrated their engagement with their families at lunch, then stayed true to their promise and went ice skating together with Jameson.
