Our Story

Colton is Hannah's epic 16 year old younger brother. He likes to surf, collect sea glass, and refers to himself as "shredder". He lives in Caycuos, California with Hannah's parents, Tom and Lisa. 

Colton "Bubba" Franklin

Wes is one of the “gentlemen of 305.” He played college tennis with Reuben at Pacific University, and they lived together for 3 years during college. He is a truly genuine person and Reuben is lucky to call him his friend. Wes lives in Hillsboro, Oregon with his wife Danielle.


Wesley Upton

Amanda was one of Hannah's Division 1 basketball teammates at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. Amanda, known to Hannah as "Loves" resides in Texas with her amazing husband, Austin, and their TWO sweet baby girls!

Grayson is one of the “gentlemen of 305.” He played college tennis with Reuben at Pacific University. During and after college Reuben spent a lot of time in Southern California with Grayson and fellow groomsman, Brennan. This eventually played a large part in Reuben moving to Los Angeles. Grayson now lives in Toronto, Canada with his fiancee Emma.

Emily was one of Hannah's Division 1 basketball teammates at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo. Emily resides in Portland with her husband, Aleks, and their sweet doggo!

Brennan is one of the “gentlemen of 305.” He played college tennis with Reuben at Pacific University and was the other tall lefty on the team. He and Reuben still play on the same league tennis team in the South Bay of LA. Brennan lives in Redondo Beach, California with his fiancee Paulina.

Introduced through Grayson Frazier (Groomsmen) Emma and Han clicked right way! While only being in Hannah's life for the past couple of years, Emma's kind soul, sweet demeanor and gentle spirit have made them SO memorable.

Clark is one of the “gentlemen of 305.” He played college tennis with Reuben at Pacific University. After graduation Clark joined the Peace Corps and the gentlemen visited him in the Dominican Republic. Clark lives in San Francisco, California with his girlfriend Amanda.


Clark Wininger

Josh is one of the “gentlemen of 305.” He was Reuben’s doubles partner all four years at Pacific University. Josh and Reuben’s contrasting game styles worked well together and they had some great wins together. Josh lives in the San Francisco Bay area with his girlfriend Sam.


Josh Bernstein

Ned is Reuben’s older brother. Although they were three years apart, Reuben loved being on the same high school cross country team as Ned when Reuben was a freshman and Ned was a senior. Ned is an incredible fly-fisherman and loves the outdoors. Ned lives outside of Denver, Colorado with his wife Anne.

About: Kauai Banyan Inn Backstory We are John &amp; Lorna Hoff, the owners of the Kauai Banyan Inn, a Kauai bed and breakfast Inn located a few minutes from sunny Poipu Beach.&nbsp;The Hoff&nbsp;“Hawaiian” adventure/experience began in 1963.&nbsp;After graduating from college John joined the Peace Corps and was assigned to serve in the Philippines.&nbsp;Peace Corp training took place in Hilo, Hawaii, which was his first experience with the Islands of Aloha.&nbsp;When he returned from the Philippines he felt a desire to return to the Islands while working with his brother and father in construction.&nbsp;&nbsp;An opportunity was afforded John to return to Hawaii around the time pineapple companies were closing operations on Kauai.&nbsp;With a good portion of Kauai’s major economic activities being shut down, purchase of land in the late 60’s and early 70’s was attainable.&nbsp;Our combined efforts in purchasing the Kauai Banyan Inn property began in 1970 with a simple letter to one of the owners of the 10.5-acre parcel.&nbsp;An old banyan tree (thought to be hundreds of years old) “watched” over the property amidst weeds, junk cars, and overgrown&nbsp;hau&nbsp;bush.

Respect the locals . ﻿The&nbsp;Koaie Trail&nbsp;is an extension of the Kukui Trail. This trail starts about a half mile up the Waimea River from the bottom of Kukui Trail. It takes you on a route along the south side of Koaie Canyon, with good scenery, wildlife and swimming holes. Swimming holes should be avoided after rains, because of quick rising waters and the possibility of flash flooding. The trail offer a few camping sites . It passes from Puu ka Pele Forest Reserve into Na Pali-Kona Forest Reserve.At the bottom of Kukui Trail you can also take the Waimea Canyon Trail. This difficult hike is a 11.5 mile along the Waimea river and leads out to the town of Waimea. An entry permit is required for this hike. Self service registration at the top of the Kukui Trail.

Koaie Canyon Trail

So if you are looking for a true adventure out in the wilds with a gorgeous white sandy beach at the end, then this is a prime Hawaiian destination for you.&nbsp;-&nbsp;The HawaiianIslands.com Local Expert Team﻿There is no beach on Kauai that is more isolated than Kipu Kai Beach. In fact, very few tourists to the island even know about this beach, with the exception being those who take a helicopter or similar backwoods tour of the island. That’s because getting to this beach is difficult but for most&nbsp;who make the trek, the serenity is well worth it.

The Hanapepe Valley Lookout near Hanapepe, Hawaii (Kauai) is quick roadside stop with a view of the southern end of the Hanapepe Valley gorge. This is not a hike nor a walk, simply just a roadside stop which can be enjoyed along a self-guided island tour of Kauai. ParkingThere's a parking turnout available at the coordinates provided that can fit about five vehicles.
